Each issue will have 2 reprints & 1 piece of nonfiction, which means a lot of tough decisions. A rejection is not a reflection of the quality of your piece! We feel incredibly lucky to pick from such wonderful stories.

It’s been two days since we opened and we have 80+ submissions! Thank you for sending us so much great work! Please don’t be discouraged by a fast response: with so many submissions and so few slots, we’ve already had to decline many wonderful stories.

We’d definitely be interested in taking a look at an excerpt from a longer unpublished work, especially if it’s accessible to a lay audience! We are always keen on public-facing scholarship… or scholarship tweaked to be public-facing 🙂

We know that’s a bit broad! We’ll likely share more specific thoughts and some wishlist items at some point in the not-too-distant future, once we’ve started to get a sense of what our submissions pile looks like.

Any topics are fair game! Generally speaking, pieces related in some way to queerness and/or speculative genres (even if only tangentially) are probably a more obvious fit for us and our audience, but we’re interested in reading all kinds of things!
