Did you know that Claude Shannon also developed maze solving algorithms?

Which he implemented physically using a wooden mouse named Theseus.

To solve a given maze, on a grid, Theseus used two modes:

The really grim reality is that this is really not just about kids - there are countless adults, often adult *professionals*(doctors, lawyers, teachers(!)) that use ChatGPT this way. And I can understand why - there's no warning on the box! Few truly understand the tech's very real limitations.

Regional map of the Canadian Arctic showing November 2024 temperature anomalies. Most areas are warmer than average. Anomalies are calculated to a 1981-2010 baseline with red being warmer than average, and blue being colder than average.

Yet another month (November 2024) with anomalous warmth continuing across just about all of the Canadian #Arctic Archipelago... 🫠

I just found out that around 20% of the neanderthal genome still exists today in living people!!

No individual person has more than 3 or 4% but we don't all have the same bits. If you add up all the bits we've found, about a fifth of the Neanderthal genome is still present on earth today.
