…then you should be able to pull on both sets of strings at the same time to cinch the bag closed. You might have to use a narrower, rounder string for this to go smoothly, rather than twill tape

I can’t tell if there are two openings on opposite signs of the top of the bag? If so, you would go all the way around from one direction with one string, then all the way around from the opposite side with the other string…
