Today's #mtgtrivia question:
Darksteel made an updated version of a popular Alpha cycle. What was it?
#WotCStaff
Answer to yesterday's #mtgtrivia question:
Indestructible (which took a while to become a mechanic; it was juts an English word for a while). I said, "For other players to not blow them up."

Todayβs #mtgtrivia question:
Bill Rose asking me βWhat do players most want their artifacts to do?β lead to me creating what βmechanicβ, which debuted in Darksteel?
#WotCStaff
Answer to yesterdayβs #mtgtrivia question:
Uncolored mana symbols in rules text. Also, we did technically adjust the new artifact frame to look less like the white frame.

Today's #mtgtrivia question:
In Mirrodin block, we tried something new with the printing. Players hated it so much, we changed back for the next block and never did it again. What was the change?
#WotCStaff
Answer to yesterday's #mtgtrivia question:
Platinum Angel. We knew we wanted a metal Angel, so we commissioned the art, planning to figure it out the design later.
#WotCStaff
Today's #mtgtrivia question:
For one Mirrodin card, we commissioned the art before we designed the card. What card was it?
#WotCstaff
Answer to yesterday's #mtgtrivia question:
Chalice of the Void. Gary turned it in for his Invitational card (the winner got their card added to a set - after development). Although he didn't win the event, we really liked the card and put it into the set anyway.

Today's #mtgtrivia question:
What Mirrodin card was designed by pro player Gary Wise?
#WotCStaff
Answer to yesterday's #mtgtrivia question:
Mindslaver. It was originally the card Helm of Possession, but was changed at the last minute due to rules issues. When working on Mirrodin, I asked the current Rules Manager if it could work and they said yes.
#WotCStaff
Oh, I meant a different card than Soul Foundry. It happened twice.

Todayβs #mtgtrivia question:
What Mirrodin card was originally submitted in Tempest design, but killed, at the time, by the Rules Manager?

Answer to yesterdayβs #mtgtrivia question:
Gnomes. All the rest got changed to Myr.

Every Standard set? Cowards! : )

Today's #mtgtrivia question:
What creature type had over ten cards in the Mirrodin design handoff, but ended up with just one card in the printed set?
#WotCStaff
Answer to yesterday's #mtgtrivia question:
Soul Foundry. The design, named Clone Machine, was originally in Tempest, but the Rules Manager couldn't template it. I would bring it back in Mirrodin. When I pulled energy out of the set, I put imprint in, inspired by Clone Machine.

Today's #mtgtrivia question:
What card with imprint in Mirrodin was the card whose design inspired the mechanic?
#WotCStaff
Answer to yesterday's #mtgtrivia question:
Entwine. I came up with it in a dream, realized I was dreaming, woke up, and wrote it down.
#WotCStaff
Today's #mtgtrivia question:
The entwine mechanic from original Mirrodin has a unique quality to how it was created. What is it?

Today's #mtgtrivia question:
What Legions card is an anagram of the words "I am <a superhero>" (<a superhero> is a filler for the name of an actual superhero.)?
#WotCStaff
Answer to yesterday's #mtgtrivia question:
Six (Bladewing's Thrall, Bladewing the Risen, Day of the Dragons, Dragonspeaker Shaman, Dragonstalker & Dragonstorm). The set did have a handful of other cards with Dragon in their names.
