an unfortunate side effect from the well oiled machine, i totally get what you mean. it's been really sad to see people fall to those pressures, folks that came in with a bright smile and lots of hope only for them to start churning more and more stuff faster and faster to please "the algo"

that's why my schedule has gone from "one video a month" to "one every like nine months" because there's just so much emphasis put by outer parties to "perform" and "keep it rolling" when really that's antithetical to the art. it needs to come when i feel like it

in the end that stuff tends to be what stops most of us from creating. so much consideration into this and that instead of actually enacting something. plus like you said, sure it's enriching to find community but at the same time life is short and i'd rather live

this is the basic argument for engaging with the larger online video sphere that reaches a much bigger audience - youtube in particular. but most of us aren't built to be making online video, and these platforms tend towards mushifying consumer-centric language that decontextualizes everything
