In my eight decades here I can’t think of a time of greater lunacy. From Farage to Trump, Oban to Badenstock - Netanyahu to Putin - everywhere I look the lunatics are crawling and gibbering in every corridor in the asylum.

So far the war on Iran has cost $9.4 billion.

That's $1 billion per day.

$41,666,667 per hour.

$11,574 per second.

Thousands of lives lost.

People don't want this. They want a living wage. They want healthcare. They want to be able to afford a home. They want their basic needs met.

Lest we forget what a rich over promoted and dangerous onanist this man was - and still is.

It’s more serious than that. The WH knows that serious people will see through their psy-ops on the US but the knuckle draggers won’t. Before Rome fell it was Bread n Circuses - before the US falls (and it will) it will be Fox News & Fake News. All empires fail some faster than others.

A black pen in crosshatch technique and black ink applied with a small roller on white paper illustration of a scene of Venice. A black Cat sits in a Gondola, Crows sit atop long poles that rise from the water. Water laps at the Gondola and a little wooden jetty, across the water hazy buildings, their lights just visible through a fog. Crows circle above. A dark figure of a man stands on the jetty by the Gondola on the left of the illustration. Mysterious.

Decided to part with this one. An illustration I made when my mum was ill & one of the last she saw me make. A piece probably about grief, illness, sadness & departure so of course I called it β€˜Don’t Look Meow’ πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ

The BBC has been Frankenstein to the monster Farage and their refusal to acknowledge it is an open sore in our culture.

On a corporate lie. The Iraq war was great for business. As is the regime change in Iran.

My mum and dad used to go dancing there when he was home on leave. Lots of US airmen - also lots of fights.

Polling holds too much sway over our democracy and governance. But the G&D by-election does show that Reform’s dominance is inflated by foreign/rightwing interests, irresponsible media support and Farage’s ego.
If progressives can win despite all that, then hatred really is overpriced. Hope can win.

A print (stolen from my partner Clare Caulfield) of a stylised New York City scene. Taxis trundle past shopfronts and tall buildings, figures stand at traffic lights. The original was done in watercolour, pencil and printmaking techniques, it is beautiful and I’m well proud of her (A) for making this and then (B) battling the thieves who are stealing it by selling prints, phone cases and other naff items and passing it off as their own.

My partner has had a truly rotten couple of weeks discovering that her beautiful artwork has been stolen & sold by sellers (a print we purchased to do detective workπŸ‘‡πŸ») on Amazon, Temu, Redbubble, Etsy & others.

Please visit her own Etsy shop & cheer her up www.etsy.com/uk/shop/Clar... Thanks πŸ™πŸ»

A vote for Matt Goodwin/Reform in #GortonAndDenton is a vote for racism and misogyny. A vote to shame the constituency, to divide and fail it. It’s a vote that takes no responsibility for its consequences because it hasn’t thought about them and doesn’t care enough to do that.
Don’t be that voter.

Most people in England & Wales are not Christian, and it’s axiomatic to a free society that religious beliefs - or the lack of them - are irrelevant to civic participation. Britain is a pluralist, not a Christian, society; and this is one more reason to fight Reform UK.

Amen. So far it seems Starmer has insisted that though Russian interference is being investigated - the remit does not include Brexit. Ridiculous and suspicious.

The (white)US is about 300 yrs old. The GB Empire lasted some 200. ( E India co to Partition of India) so don’t lecture me on Culture. India was the most powerful trading nation on Earth until GB invaded. Cf Dalrymple β€˜ The Anarchy β€˜

A black pen (in a crosshatch technique) and black ink (applied with a roller) illustration on off white paper of a man out walking in the countryside with his dog.

Muddy tracks in fields lead towards a leafless tree in a hillside, the man and his dog pal in silhouette against a cloudy white sky. The branches of the tree hang over the landscape against a gloomy grey backdrop, crows in flight making their way home to roost.

A cold and wintry scene, it makes you want to be indoors with a nice cup of tea.

No more feeling anxious about whether the originals of my Woman in Black illustrations are too expensive, I’ve been in such a worrisome mood recently.

I think they’re pretty good value.

This is an unpublished illustration I made.

We don’t have a functioning democracy when the people who lied to our faces to β€˜get Brexit done’ are never held to account for the damage they’ve caused… and, worse still, are rewarded for life, for cynically or moronically selling our country out.

They deserve nothing but our contempt. Forever.

I get why Matt posts this nonsense every day, outrage pays.
None of this is on the current government.
Open borders? Brexit.
Soft-on-crime chaos? Tories.
Highest taxes since the 1940s? Tories.
Shafted pensioners? Tories.
Farmers driven to despair? Brexit.
Hotels for migrants? Brexit + Tory failure.
