Queers Against Fascism

Det kan inte undgå någon att vår "allierade" tog en svensk journalist som gisslan och fick den svenska säkerhetspolisen att utföra deras arbete åt dem. En diktatur som jagar ner sina dissidenter. Jag är otroligt glad att Joakim är släppt men det är en jävla skam att vi låter oss förnedras så här.

Enligt de turkiska myndigheterna är Medin, som skulle bevaka protesterna i Turkiet, en av 15 misstänkta i en utredning som inleddes efter att en docka föreställande Erdogan hängts utanför Stockholms stadshus 2023.

STATEMENT FROM QAF REGARDING THE ARREST OF JOURNALIST JOAKIM MEDIN During the Stockholm Pride parade 2023 our platform Queers Against Facism was used to protest against the oppression of LGBTQ+ people in Turkey. We chose to do this in collaboration with our comrades in Rojavakommittéerna by borrowing the so-called “Erdoğan-doll”. We simply put the doll portraying Erdoğan holding a pride flag on the side of our truck during the pride parade. The Pride flag is an extremely charged symbol in Turkey, and LGBTQ people who hold it risk their lives. Erdoğan has repeatedly led the way in hate against LGBTQ+ people, including statements such as “we are against the LGBTQ” during his campaign speeches. Apart from us wanting to protest Turkey's oppression against LGBTQ+ people we also wanted to show that we, as queers, stand together with our comrades in Kurdistan. Liberation for all is our demand.

When the news reached us yesterday that the swedish journalist Joakim Medin was arrested in Turkey based on bogus claims of being responsible for actions involving the “Erdoğan-doll” we were utterly dumbfounded and shocked as Joakim Medin has never had anything to do with either our protest during pride nor our group, ever. We know of Joakim Medin as a professional journalist. Even though we are not surprised that Turkey disproves of his critical assessment of how their country has been digressing from democratic values (understatement i.e turned fascist) we are horrified and shocked to see how easy they could arrest Joakim Medin, while the whole world watches, on these absolutely false premises. We fear for all who have somehow dared to question the leadership of countries that seek out to silence anyone who is perceived as a threat against the prevailing hegemony. We are rightfully worried and should all be vigilant because apparently - one might just be arrested and detained on a whim.

Svammel på P1 nu om att motivet inte är ideologiskt pga det inte är riktat mot samhället. Det gemensamma för alla skolskjutningar just nu är ju att slå mot samhällets mest sårbara för att skapa maximal chockverkan i samhället. Terror i dess mest basala definition.

Skolan hade alltså komvux och SFI-undervisning.

Ändå ställs ingen fråga från media om hur nyanlända och personer med utländsk bakgrund ska våga gå till sin SFI-undervisning, sina jobb, skola eller annan sysselsättning imorgon.
