It’s Super Effective has changed my life, in so many ways, and I love and value the community around it, and the friends I have made thanks to it, So Much.

After some discussions with Steve, I also want to share that this Monday’s episode will be my last one on ISE for the foreseeable. I need to figure out what, if anything, I can bring to the pod moving forward—in part because of how I’m feeling about Pokémon as a company right now.

The lecture I mentioned was the “Chat GP-why” lecture by @emilymbender.bsky.social, who just so happens to be the other author of that book (it comes out May 13th!). The podcast hosted by the two of them, “Mystery AI Hype Theater 3000”, is also one of my favorites right now 🤗

My number-one recommendation for learning more about these algorithmic models beyond the hype is @dairinstitute.bsky.social, and so many of the people behind it—including Alex Hanna, one of the authors of the book “THE AI CON” that I mentioned looking forward to

I really want to share some of the sources I buried myself in as I was gathering my thoughts for this episode:

I’d been pretty stressed about the Claude discussion! This was my first attempt at trying to talk about this thing I think about a lot and have a lot of feelings about. The feedback on it from the last day has made me so happy, and I’m so glad that what I said made at least some sense! 😂

This week’s episode was a big one for me! We covered two topics that I care a lot about: the topic of “AI”, while covering ClaudePlaysPokemon, and, separately, my feelings about the recent sale of Pokémon GO to Scopely
