Thats where Andy Serkis comes in. He literally acts out the entire thing and everyone has their own unique voice. Tolkien seems to.....ramble.....alot. Serkis makes it go down smooth and keeps my interest in the ramble.
I think I was in such a funk after the journey that I needed to fill it and went for Tolkien. The pipe scene will live rent free in my head forever. On LOTR, I'm listening to the audiobook narrated by Andy Serkis and he's awesome. Though, Tom Bombadil is the most annoying character I've ever seen
