How many cycling clubs, coaches etc, are aware that studies are now showing endurance trainingincreases the risk of heart arythmias by 6.7 times the general population's rate. This is controlling for genetic risks etc.

Go to a cycling club, what do they automatically get you doing? Long rides. "endurance". It's not even an option in many cases to do sprint, and certainly not one that the clubs advocate for. Do more miles .. train "more". That's how it works.

Something to consider. I advocated for sprint in the national cycling program, and tilted against the windmill of everyone in cycling saying "don't specialise", while they were automatically specialising "the kids" in endurance.
