Now granted the bc team said they always planned for June but that was AFTER the toblerone thing so I kind of debate that. Anyway I have soooo much to say about June (and yiffy but that’s a whole other can of worms) through a postfeminist media lens and just. Wanna go for it.

Anyway it was one of two academic articles I found with homestuck as the core subject matter and honestly that’s two more than I expected and all I want is to sink my teeth into them and fully dissect them

Now in my defense it was actually one of the most interesting ways I’ve seen these topics broken down (possibly because my own affinity and hyperfixation on the topic it was assessing) but I also loved the idea of how homestuck goes beyond a “page turner”, it’s this own unique THING never studied!

I think I have hit the weirdest intersection of fandom/academia because I emailed a professor yesterday about an article that was really interesting into affect where readers negotiated meaning making through intentional choice of media delivery and yes it was a homestuck article
