Finished pear-ginger tart.

Finished pear-ginger tart.

I have wanted to make this tart, planning it in my head, for well over a year.

Originally just a flirty inside-joke, this pear-ginger tart has sweet bosch pears and slivers of crystal ginger on a pastry crust. Even though it didn’t turn out quite like I planned, it was delicious.

I was a nonverbal kid and honestly it makes me very uncomfortable knowing a good chunk of USAmericans and RFK jr felt I shouldn’t have been allowed to live because of it

I’m very privileged for eventually gaining communication skills, but they describe kids who were like me. I was one of those kids

RAADS–R | Embrace Autism The RAADS–R is a questionnaire designed to assist clinicians with the diagnosis of autistic adults who often “escape diagnosis” due to a subclinical level presentation.

Ppl who read about a Autistic trait often don’t have *context* & ask:

“that sounds like something everyone does, doesn’t that mean everyone’s Autistic?”

1st, having a *single* Autistic trait doesn’t mean a person is Autistic.

2nd, we recommend you take the RAADS-R test if want larger context.

What Should Sex Ed for Autistic People Look Like? — THINKING PERSON'S GUIDE TO AUTISM Sex ed for Autistic people usually emphasizes compliance with neurotypical expectations, not self-advocacy—which pains me, as a survivor.

"I would also like to see sex ed for Autistic people that is created and taught by Autistic people, rather than the seemingly endless number of non-Autistic professionals who style themselves as saviors for providing this education regardless of harm caused."

Platypus vanish from river where Charles Darwin pondered evolution Almost 190 years on, in the place where Charles Darwin first spotted a platypus, the egg-laying mammal seems to have disappeared.

The continuing environmental devastation of coal mining and burning.

Dr Bino says the results "clearly show toxic brine is leaking from Energy Australia's Mount Piper Power Station ash dump".

I think about Aaron Swartz often. Information wants to be free. Hoarding knowledge for profit is Anti-Human. Stealing knowledge to turn it into more hoarded knowledge so that you can sell it back for profit is Evil.

We could he so much more. We could be doing so much more.

Having had all my vaccines and paracetamol this week, I am unfortunately not more autistic at all.

Totally sold a lie there...I was hoping to top up.

I really only have sleeping photos of Mario because when he’s awake, he wiggles faster than autofocus can handle, so I have sleeping Mars and blur Mars. #dogphotos #Mar10isdog

Having been one (and my primary special interest being learning), I have to say that you know things are REALLY bad when academics won’t go to the place they’re studying because it’s too dangerous.

Autistic meltdowns aren’t tantrums.

They’re the bodymind saying “I can’t hold this anymore".

They’re not moral failures.

They’re overload.

Pressure leaving the system.

You don’t need punishment.

You need safety.

My photo shows a mosaic fragment from the floor of a Roman villa in Spain, dated AD 100-200s. It depicts a cartoon-like, stylised octopus using red, yellow, white, and black limestone tesserae, against a white background. The front-facing octopus has a large red and white head/body outlined in black. Its yellow circular eyes are outlined in black with a central black dot. Below the head/body are eight writhing tentacles
