i think about this strip daily.
I don’t want to minimize your legitimate sentiment because I share in this apprehension, however I feel like TYT have lost whatever credibility they might have had a long time ago.
Every person of conscience should denounce this appalling, egregious expression of antisemitism.

You've probably seen my writhing in The Atlantic
Meanwhile up north, the CBC/Radio Canada coverage goes like “Trump lies all the time. Here is the list of old and new lies he said during his address, along with our best, most recent numbers on the truth.”
Denis Villeneuve’s second feature film, “Maelstrom,” is a singularly strange and affecting story of human connectedness not as a source of comfort, but as a web of tragedies.
I watched “Temblores” a few months ago and that movie still haunts me. Bustamante is a singularly capable storyteller.
The minutes of my board meetings would be much more exciting in this format.
I wholeheartedly sympathize. Whenever I’ve had to shave my beard (so: perhaps three times in the last decade) I have saved my mustache for last, but I’ve chickened out every time and shaved that off too. Who can say whether the world is ready?
Oh no! Pushy fans can be really insufferable.
I can’t remember the exact context, but I recall someone *really* wanted me to like “Queen & Country” and “100 Bullets.” I don’t deny these are great comics but I don’t resonate with the characters/themes at all. There’s really no need to insist!
To each their own! I admit I can’t be objective when it comes to Lying Cat. I have a soft spot for giant talking felines.
I feel like Saga gets less swear-y a few issues in? I’m a fan (I love a zany space opera) but I admit it takes about a volume and a half to hit its stride. It’s not for everyone but you might like it if you persevere.
I didn’t know “hello” was popularized by the telephone!
“Hey now, you’re an otyugh,
a gulguthra, go splay!
Hey now, you’re an otyugh,
scavenge offal, find shade
twixt the gutters and holes,
only eating trash slick with mold.”

However: *more generally,* most spaces should be more inclusive of every kind of diversity, including neurodiversity!
There might not be a clear and easy solution to the case being discussed *here.* Erring on the side of enabling racist abuse seems like a non-starter to me.
I think we all need to consider what we owe others and what others owe us. A baseline of compassion (including self-compassion) is fairly critical. It just can’t turn into a blank cheque.
Someone replied (and then deleted) something really sad about self-selecting out of most social settings. I want to tell them: I am truly sorry. I don’t think that should be the takeaway at all.
No, nor was that in any way implied.
Social responsibility is a balancing act, and just because some dilemmas are Cornelian doesn’t mean anyone should get a pass when the predictable outcomes of their decisions harms others.
Also: slurs aren’t merely “inappropriate.” They’re a form of abuse.
Stranger things have happened, but knowing his record, he is probably just vagueposting with intent.
I gather he is not talking about cultural genocide of the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis but rather some imagined evil scapegoating immigrants and/or trans women?
If you can’t be in a given setting without abusing or victimizing someone along racial lines, I am very sorry for you, but you should seriously consider your assumptions about that setting, including the appropriateness of your presence there.
One of my classmates in undergrad had BPD and would derail certain social situations. I would usually make excuses for him, until a mutual acquaintance witnessed a particularly violent outburst and said: “just because he can’t help it doesn’t make it fair or our problem.”
That stayed with me.
This gay little goblin.

You mean all these years, I could have been begging my favourite writers to send me scripts?
(I would never do this and am sorry unscrupulous folk are trying to take advantage of your good will.)
Skinamarink, by a mile.
I was so bored but I went with my dudepal and he was too invested to leave.
These are so cute and stylish! Makes me want to try my hand at making things again.
When I was in high school, I stopped reading “The Fellowship of the Ring” because I thought it was too derivative of the Völsunga Saga.
All of that to say: it is not only possible for young people to love old texts, they can also be real snobs about it!
(I have since learned to love Tolkien.)
In the dawn of man, he was a lonely creature, naked and defenseless. Life was short and cold. Then, groups formed and found strength in numbers. One of them said "I will become a customer success team lead." Another said "I will write tickets on Jira, Asana, or Trello." Thus was paradise realized.
