That was a messy post. "Mine" and "Insincere."

Min is "Mate". It just sounds so in sincere.

think a push for 3d printed fingers to pop in ears could go down very well right about now. Earmuffs that look like hands... TPU... Make it so!

Just come across a rather nice Mastodon (no idea) and BlueSky client for Mac. Not sure how many face feelers I’ve got following but worth a punt: https://github.com/masonasons/FastSM

Just finding it hard to carve a path where I get the cool tech feeds, 3d printing, books, gaming and all the other things that brings light into my dull little life without mention of... Well, you know who. I don't want my anger/anxiety/pitty constantly spiking.

Listen, I love you people on the other side of the pond in a distant and compassionate way but, buddy, I wish there were a US mute button.

Two weeks until the BSSP 2026 closes!

With two weeks left until the Bristol Short Story Prize 2026 closes for submissions, let’s look back at the first lines of some winners from previous years.

Do you have a great first line?

Want... Certainly don't need... A sweet irony of a blind man wanting a bigger screen but... SHINY! Want!

This new boy, Charlie Dickens is excellent. He's going to go far. I'm on volume 1 of his complete work on audiobook. Total length: 199 hours. As Charles himself may have said... Fuck me.

It's crazy how fast it goes. I was at Loughborough 26 years ago... But I'm still young! Right... Right? And that will be excellent. Thank you.

That's exactly what I wanted to hear. I'm coming from Bristol and, though I know it won't be the same level of frenetic creativity, I was hoping there will be a good core of it. I'm also interested in game design, so might be ideal.

I just don't get how energetic he is. He's unlike any 80 year old I've ever seen or met. Even the press core that follow him complain of burn out. There must be a pharmaceutical intervention going on.

Each day I hurry down stairs like it is Christmas day to open my news feed, hoping that the world's most dangerous man has succumbed to his age and terrible diet. Each morning my belief there is a Devil grows.

I looked at the uni first time around, went to Loughborough in the end. Yes, Coventry is... Earthy. I feel that, coming from Leicester, I'm allow to make such judgement.

Am I correct in thinking the university is actually closer to Leamington than Warwick itself, and is in Coventry? I think the uni will be my main focus of interest, social and recreational. I do like that it's full of game designers too though. Maybe more tech than literary, that's the only downer.
