As a final thought on this, I think in Snowgrave you're no longer viewing Kris as just a person. You're viewing them as yet another game character. As a "Vessel" of sorts, which would work in the prophecy favor if that's the way the story is going.
Which is not a good thing for reasons stated above

I think the cage isn't about Kris themself. It's about the Vessel
I think the Vessel was the cage we were supposed to take over, before Susie would destroy it so she could take our SOUL
But the second voice put us into Kris just so that we WOULDN'T want Kris harmed

But in order to "open the cage" and have her heart fulfilled, she'd have to do something that she doesn't want to, which could be harming Kris. Which might be what she saw at the end of the Chapter and smashed with her fist

My current Theory about the whole thing relating why images of Susie have her holding a sword and her heart in Chapter 4 is because SHE'S the protagonist. Kris is the cage, and once the cage is open, we're supposed to play as/help Susie

emil you probably won't listen to me but the 2 never really struck me as yellow and having it be purple fits with the fact the icon and title screen are purple, alongside that you can have a nice path of colors of blue to purple to red for 1-3 which are the only deluxe versions
