Agree that we need more social supports. Where we probably differ is over whether we should further tip the scales on reducing the ability of repeat, violent offenders to get bail- they may not be a statistically large group but can have outsized effects on victims/communities if they re-offend.
Unfortunately, though, there are few good stats specifically about re-offending while on bail.
