I will not support any funding deal that puts money in the hands of Stephen Miller, Kristi Noem, and this violent agency. Defund and abolish ICE now.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the city’s largest daily newspaper, will shut down on May 3 after nearly 240 years of operating. The shutdown follows a three-year union strike and ends Pittsburgh’s last remaining daily print product.

Rough vibes on this website today, likely because people feel Hopeless and Helpless Because Can't Stop It and No One Who Is Supposed To Is Trying To So Now We're Fighting Each Otherβ„’. I recommend activities such as book, or potentially instrument if you like instrument, or even do talk on phone.

Today I spent a few hours walking 12km through a chunk of the Banks Peninsula with 24 other people and am feeling far better for it, after a week of moping around the house feeling isolated and unenthused.

Tell Congress: Support discharge petition to force vote on ACA tax credits Contact Congress today!

Mike Johnson is big mad that we forced through a petition and forced a vote on releasing the Epstein files.

So let’s do it again. This time to restore the ACA credits he stole from us:

Strengthen Colorado’s AI Act Powerful institutions are using automated decision-making against us. Fortunately, workers, patients, and renters are resisting. The Colorado AI Act is a good step in the right direction. Still, EFF

Colorado enacted a limited but crucial step forward against automated decision-making: the AI Act of 2024. We oppose weakening or delaying this law, and support strengthening it. www.eff.org/deeplinks/2...

OpenAI launches ChatGPT-powered web browser. What to know before downloading. ChatGPT Atlas is a free internet browser that can regurgitate browser history, provide writing help and complete basic ordered tasks.

When you ask ChatGPT a question, you're in control of the information you're sharing, EFF’s Lena Cohen told @USAToday.com, but β€œwhen you're using the Atlas browser for day-to-day tasks, it's easier to forget that all of your activity could be sent to OpenAI."

It costs ~$70 to produce a year’s supply of insulin.

Yet, the average annual cost of insulin went from $2,864 in 2012 to $5,705 in 2016 to $18,000 in 2025. A 25,714% markup. That isn’t inflation or supply chainβ€”It’s corporate greed.

Nowβ€”California will sell insulin for $11. Make this nationwide!

We are losing something by having newsrooms where everyone who has more than a few years’ experience has gotten fired. I don’t fault a young writer for not knowing about things that happened before she was born. But now there are no editors to help give context to these stories, either.

Only an administration intent on committing war crimes in the present and future would stoop to calling Wounded Knee a "battle" rather than what it truly was: a massacre of over 250 Lakotas, mainly women, children, and the elderly. 1/

Hundreds of Alligator Alcatraz detainees drop off the grid after leaving site As of the end of August, the whereabouts of two-thirds of more than 1,800 men detained at Alligator Alcatraz during the month of July could not be determined by the Miami Herald.

More than 1800 detainees are missing after the closure of Alligator Alcatraz. Their families and lawyers can’t find them and they’ve vanished from the ICE database. Feels like this should be a much bigger story www.miamiherald.com/news/local/i...
