I’ve followed and interacted with Refaat for years. He was killed three days ago in Gaza with his brother, sister and her four kids. Here is a poem he wrote. I am heartbroken.

There are so many amazing, good people our there that are mad, insane, and mentally ill.

As a someone /with/ a mental illness, it's isolating to hear stuff like this constantly.

"Oh. They think that the reason that person is so evil is because they're 'insane' 'mad' 'mentally ill'... So they'll be suspicious of me and my views if they knew about me-"

Happens a lot.

Mental Illness is not your scapegoat for Moral Corruption.

Once again wishing for people to stop equating being Evil with Mental Illness. ✨

Please keep it in mind not to conflate our struggles with the heinous self-serving deliberate choices these people are making. Doing so unintentionally downplays their depravity and wickedness.
