Well it will assure the NDP stay a fringe party for another generation, like the federal greens have been. There isn't an easy road out for them but bouncing off the far-left wall doesn't seem the most effective. The provincial NDP show the way but for some reason the fed aren't seeing it.

So many professions are self-accredited and it is not perfect but in this case something needs to be better than just having a website and a mic.
I dunno. That doesn't seem to explain the latest polls out of Alberta with Carney leading PP. Maybe he's said other things that weren't so impressive but had the advantage of brevity and rhyming.
#cdnpoli
The media, in a misapplication of trying to justify their job, tries to turn non-gaffes into gaffes. To be fair, they're used to interpreting 3-word rhymes so any longer statement with some depth and secondary references sounds like a gaffe to them.
#cdnpoli
No, really? They've moved on from how the ICTax "almost zero" effect on gas prices is the reason grocery prices are high? I'm impressed. I can't wait for the "should leprechauns need to produce ID?" debate.
#cdnpoli
You think Canada should support Iran having nuclear weapons? He needs to say that if that's our position. Tossing in "neither should ....." doesn't contradict it. Article 5 applies to 'being attacked' not "as the attacker" so not applicable from the US side this time.
#cdnpoli #Carney
That's how we're wired ;--)) But Idlout made a great move for her riding. She needs to be at the table with a group that is trying to get Canada going and has shown major interest in the North.
#cdnpoli #carney
His initial response was bang on. He's had to waste a lot of time explaining to detail-obsessed people. It hasn't been 'convoluted' it - it was straightforward but reporters need controversy to earn a living so they look for something that wasn't said and pretend to 'interpret' it.Sad.
#cdnpoli
I just did that. You're right, not 100% correlation but way up there.
#cdnpoli
Sorry, we're well stocked in pretzels already.
#cdnpoli #carney
If you want to get those values translated into action on the ground then it leads straight to joining those with the ability to apply the theoretical. You want a seat at the table. Liberal MP's don't seem to have issues with speaking out as needed.
#cdnpoli #Idlout #ndp
Yes. I don't know why the skill required in that aspect of being a good PM or in some cases even an MP is so disrespected. Further, just like in day to day life we need to operate in the general and deal with the fine detail when we have all the fine detail.
#cdnpoli #carney
He is pretty good on his feet. "Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee"
#carney #cdnpoli
He was clear enough for me on day 1 although I realize some needed it spelt out. It's the same in any situation. Some can extrapolate for the general to the specific, others need things laid out by examples. shrug.
#cdnpoli #carney
We can't individualize it. We put down our personal preference for a MP, we have no strings attached to them. Once elected they represent the entire riding population, not us personally. We hope they make good choices. That's it until we next get our chance to vote on an MP.
Discussion/disagreement/compromise we need. Misrepresentation can kill that. We don't want the left or center left to follow the MAGA route to being completely unreliable when references those with different perspectives. Charlie has slipped into that lately. I suspect ego is acting up.
Ooooops.
It's too bad Charlie is getting too full of himself lately. He's too eager to misquote or misrepresent what people in other parties have said or done in an attempt to bolster his own stature. Disappointing, he has done and could still do some good work for the country.
Not following. You'd prefer we join US/Israel? or that we not honour a NAT0 Article 5 situation if it arises? He's stated the opposite of those options, which I appreciated.
The only quote from yesterday I found was “Canada is not participating in the United States and Israeli offensive and will never participate in it.” That does not conflict with his earlier statement ( and different from the "any" because that would unrealistic to commit to in this world).
B.
Whenever that happens I remind myself "It's time to re-examine the premises."

gathering from the left and the right. Good showing.
I just found that interesting. I'd never vote for one that wouldn't. e.g. it's one of PP's big weaknesses that he says he still has the same positions he had 20 years ago. Which makes me go 'Yikes'. I'm attracted to people adjusting to new info OR even just admit they made a mistake.
#cdnpoli
Most of the world understood his position for quite a while now, he'll likely have to keep explaining it because it's the obvious one we'd expect.

It won't be 'back to the left' of even in Layton's time. Lewis is much left of that and it'll continue to cost the union/working-class vote that we've seen recently.
#NDP #cdnpoli
Lewis will cement in the NDP slide from working class advocates to fringe-left promoters ( this is not a new insight re: Lewis).
It should be predictable which laws a group 'tends to' break by looking at their political leanings. Of course anyone can break any law but the drivers of our political positions run deep so stats should show some trends.

Worse, if pigs had wings the price of bacon would make oil seem like a giveaway.
It started in earnest in 2015 with CNN et al, the both-siding, the equivocating, the normalizing, etc. It was stomach-turning then but it's deep in the DNA now.
