Late nights developing playable chapters for a CYOA story-building board game campaign, exploring and imagining the royal houses depicted on the court cards of a standard deck. AMA.

Oh! its also a hidden information courtship game. We're playing as the Jacks of a Standard Deck crafting gifts for the Pages who each like a unique set of specific items. The winning couple may just become the King and Queen for the remainder of the Campaign.

Ever challenging myself to use a standard deck of cards in unique ways for my Legacy game. I seem to have legs under a deck builder where you use low cards to buy high cards in order to improve your chances to draw melds (pairs and runs) at the beginning of your turns. πŸŽ²βœ‚οΈ !

Loving this idea more and more. Seeing the physical pile of fragments and, as always, hearing my kids' ideas for them, is really inspiring and motivating me to keep pulling on this thread.

This way, towards the end of the campaign, we would have a box full of torn up cards. I love the idea of using these shreds as a thematic pool of generational wisdom or shards of antiquity.

I appreciate Legacy board games that thematically destroy pieces as a game progresses, but I love my components too much to see them as one-time-use. What do we think about a game that requires a standard deck, that gets ripped up as you play through the chapters, when a character/artifact perishes?

I found an incredible play-testing community last spring where, for the first time, I felt like my niche hobby was normalized. I had finally found a place where I could learn from like-minded peers and the inspirations and momentum that @breakmygame.com provided me is, and continues to be priceless.
