04.02.2025 21:35 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Look, I need a little comfort, so can everyone tell me what their all time favorite movie was in their childhood?
Mine was and still is Sword in the Stone. No one dies, itβs hilarious, and itβs about an interesting topic. What are your favorites? #movies #animatedmovies #childhood #millennial
I took my kids to the library and told them each to choose 2-5 books on a topic theyβre interested in learning about. Hereβs what they chose. #homeschool #literacy #booksky #reading

28.01.2025 23:20 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβve got another reading assignment for you: βA Modest Proposalβ by Jonathan Swift, written 1792. I hereby dedicate it to a certain Georgian wart in Congress. #satire #booksky #readinglist

My 9yo started off strong with her topic request in 2025, so I wrote a unit. A revolutionary who fights for educational rights? Excellent choice, kid. And how incredibly relevant. #education
28.01.2025 05:50 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβm really tired of having bathroom troubles. Yes, I meant that in more than one way.

9yo: Ugh. I hate not needing to know things that I really WANT to know.
Same, kid. Same.
I am laughing but also crying because youβre right: wow. Scrolling that list is a wild ride.

I started making sourdough because gluten-free bread is too expensive for how unfulfilling it is. Plus, my dietitian thought I could tolerate it since Iβm gluten sensitive but donβt have celiac. A month in and Iβm miraculously not having reactions. And Iβm finally eating delicious, filling bread π

22.01.2025 20:47 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I wonβt name any names, but every time I see a certain someone, all I can picture is Ed Bighead from Rockoβs Modern Life.
22.01.2025 03:46 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0OF THE EMPIRE We will be known as a culture that feared death and adored power, that tried to vanquish insecurity for the few and cared little for the penury of the many. We will be known as a culture that taught and rewarded the amassing of things, that spoke little if at all about the quality of life for people (other people), for dogs, for rivers. All the world, in our eyes, they will say, was a commodity. And they will say that this structure was held together politically, which it was, and they will say also that our politics was no more than an apparatus to accommodate the feelings of the heart, and that the heart, in those days, was small, and hard, and full of meanness.
From Mary Oliver

21.01.2025 21:49 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Picture of page 25 from Animal Farm. The text is Squealer the pig telling the other animals why the milk and apples must be reserved for the pigs.
Iβm just going to leave this right here.

Today we honor Martin Luther King Jr., and all that he stood for - βWe need leaders not in love with money but in love with justice. Not in love with publicity but in love with humanity. Leaders who can subject their particular egos to the pressing urgencies of the great cause of freedom.β

20.01.2025 17:30 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0My 9yo: Why do people in power have to use big, fancy words like inauguration?
Me: well, that big, fancy word has been the word for this particular event for a long time. π

20.01.2025 05:18 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Zero judgment here! There are so many books to be read, and I havenβt read the ones you mentioned. Iβll have to add them to my list π
20.01.2025 03:30 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Everyone loves to quote 1984 by Orwell, but itβs Animal Farm for me. I swear that novel is chronically relevant.
20.01.2025 02:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0If youβve never read Animal Farm by George Orwell, let me tell you about Benjamin the Donkey. You see, according to Benjamin, βDonkeys live a long time,β which means he sees these pigs situate themselves as leaders and act like theyβre building a better farm. BUT, he knows better.
