With live disk, it’s slightly more complicated. You have to insert the disk and use an option within the core to say you’ve done so.

Still doing revisions, but not because of this.

Doing some testing of SS1 reading PS1 data directly from a disk without dumping the data first. It’s much better than I expected.

That being said, copying games to the SD or SSD is still the optimal strategy for performance. It’s a one-time process and better for random access.

This in-flight controller has better input buttons than a bunch of retro handhelds I’ve reviewed. The issue is that it doesn’t have any software to use them.

It would be trivial to sideload, but it’s highly unlikely I’d be able to finish before getting caught by the stewardess.

Heads up, we should have all existing HDMI preorders shipped in the next ~2 weeks. After that, we will open ordering for SUPER5 Touch and SUPER5 Touch HDMI as a non-preorder with remaining stock from the current batch.

We should have some more in a few weeks.

We now have reference quality CVBS from the RCA connector. I’ll try to remember to post the data for every connector later on.

Update: A damaged SD card slot would essentially make this a paperweight, so we made the slot modular like other important connectors that can fail from use. Remove two screws and disconnect the FPC to replace the board. This replacement part will ship with SS1.

I don't think it's pointless...

18 months of R&D, just as many failed revisions, and more than $200K in costs. SUPER5 OLED HDMI is finally done.

This is the first fully assembled device in the world. You can't imagine how relieved I am that it works. This was the most difficult project I've ever worked on.

All you need are 8-bits.

Our hardware intern has been working on a cool project that is almost done.

If you live in MX, we do regular drops of Mexico-specific SKUs on each batch.

The case for the SUPER5 portable charger is basically done. Remove the four screws on the bottom, swap out the 5,000 mAh battery for a used Switch Lite battery, and then close it up to create a zero-waste portable charger.
