#ewgc The 250th anniversary of Jane Austen's birth will be celebrated with Devoney Looser's excellent commentary WILD FOR AUSTEN. Deeply researched by this author and professor, it contains some topics from her previous (excellent) book with a lot of new things. A wonderful study of Austen. Sept 2

#ewgc OVERDUE by Stephanie Perkins is a slow-burn romance with a very cozy vibe that I enjoyed--I wanted to visit these places! The time-to-move-on stale relationship trope is kind of bothersome to me, but it didn't detract from the excellent plot. Pub date Oct. 7.

Without going all Martin Niemöller here, I do think that it's bad not to speak up for immigrants, transgender Americans, civil servants, women, Ukraine, and everyone else the MAGA bullies are going after. We're beyond picking and choosing whom to defend. It's time to stand up and speak out.

#ewgc Pub date coming fast for Nickolas Butler's A FORTY YEAR KISS, a truly authentic look at a relationship over time in a small Wisconsin town. Nails it for portrayal of real struggles of a poor but determined woman and her ex-husband with alcohol problems. Great read! @sbkslibrary.bsky.social
