Why is it always called βdisruptiveβ when working people demand better? Thank you, @adamconover.net , for having me on Factually! to talk about worker exploitation and massive wealth & income inequality as the disruptive forces we need to address.

Among other harms, reckless use of ICE raids at workplaces and shackling & detaining workers is threatening investments in the U.S. that were poised to create thousands of jobs. Thank you, @thewarningses.bsky.social, for talking with me about this adminβs latest example of total incompetence.

It was such a beautiful day. Many of my staff who had been at the DOL for years said it was the most touching event theyβd been to. Community members came from all over the country.
@duckworth.senate.gov, Kent Wong, & Saket Soni all spoke at the ceremony to help celebrate them.

We know that when you make the pie bigger for everyone, working people donβt have to fight each other for ever-shrinking slices. We donβt need data to tell us that, but we wonβt let Trump undermine all faith in data in his ongoing assault on the truth.

All of what weβre seeing from the Trump administration is a choice to put corporations ahead of caretakers, the wealthy ahead of workers, and the bosses ahead of the busboys.

The work of the Bureau of Labor Statistics to report real-time data on the labor market and jobs is complex and requires tremendous expertise, and Trump ridicules and seeks to discredit anything complex. But he does so at all of our peril.

After the disgraceful firing of BLS Commissioner @erikamcentarfer.bsky.social last month, BLS staff knew that an honest Aug Jobs Report would incur the wrath of the Trump admin. But they did their jobs anyway. Unlike Trump World, BLS employees are unwilling to protect their own jobs above all else.

The hardworking & talented investigators at the DOL have an underrated skill in convincing workers to talk about abuses in their workplace even when those workers face retaliation for doing so. Today, those investigators are the ones speaking up about abuses in their own workplace.

This Jobs Report Is the Trump Presidency in a Nutshell
Guest article by Julie Su, former Acting U.S.
As Trump continues with policies that hurt workers and eliminate jobs, his administration is also on a reckless path to cover up facts and lie about it. I partnered with @meidastouch.com to describe how this is the Trump administration in a nutshell.

From two years ago. Back when we:
-listened to workers, not terrorized them;
-protected them rather than jailed them;
-enforced labor laws rather than broke them.

One of the most terrible aspects of the Trump economy is how exclusionary it is by design. Itβs fewer opportunities for fewer people; tax cuts for the rich and scraps for the poor; relentless attacks on the jobs, rights, protections, and opportunities that people of color and women have won.
