Democrat Bobbi Boudman won the special election for Carroll County District 7, defeating Republican Dale Fincher 51-47% in a district that voted Republican by more than 13 points just 16 months ago.

This is Andrew Davis, who Trump nominated to the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas.

The judiciary committee already advanced his nomination to the Senate floor on a party-line vote.

Now he just awaits final confirmation by the full Senate, timing TBD.
