I heard a red winged blackbird this morning just before the freezing rain started.

Great analogy. Best to avoid the need for the cleansing fire.

Inhaled a wee bit of water just before bed.
Do not recommend.
Lungs not impressed.
Cough. Cough. Sigh.

I get that they'd be considered invasive in Ottawa too. But with the northward migration of Lyme disease carrying ticks, it seems wise to also let their predators in also.

Eggs Benedict, drowned in hollandaise sauce. Topped with avocado slices. Side od salsa.

Comfort food is breakfast for supper. The cheese and green onion are well hidden. Homemade goodness.

A screen shot of the results page from one colour matching trial. It shows 5 colour matching attempts comparing my choice to the goal colour. Score was 38.79/50. The game comment is "Not bad. Not good. Not anything, really."

My best result so far:

I've been amusing myself with dialed.gg but having a rather poor visual memory has resulted in some comically low scores.

Read "Crossroads" and enjoyed it more than I expected. Still waiting on the other books to be available from the library.

My dental appointment was extra long today. When I arrived, they were waiting for a technician to repair the compression unit for the water.

two geese are standing on a dirt path in a field Alt: Two Canada Geese are standing on a dirt path in a field. One is clearly doing the goose version of hissing at the other goose.

Currently very nice outside. I saw hundreds of Canada geese returning from their Winter vacation today. They will not be impressed by the icy storm arriving on Wednesday.

Went for a walk in the woods today. Wetter than we expected. The relatives I was with were very stubborn so the route we followed involved balancing on logs and wet feet. Thank you wool socks for still being warm when wet.

a cup of coffee is being poured into a bowl on a table . Alt: Coffee being poured into a mug. The viewing perspective is from above the mug.

Some mornings when I'm making coffee, I wonder about the first person who thought "roast beans, crush them, put them in hot water, then drink the brown water". Genius.

New/Mode | Make your voice impossible to ignore

The Ontario cuts to OSAP are a real slap in the face in the midst of an affordability crisis that disproportionately impacts youth. Sign a petition to restore funding. Conservatives do bend to public pressure. New/Mode | Make your voice impossible to ignore share.google/sG1o5gEwQNum...

A cluster of turkey feathers in the snow near some dry grass. I did not take photos of the much more graphic skeletal remains of the poor turkey.

Walked along the river near my house. Scared a lot of nervous ducks away from some open water. Saw graphic evidence that at least one turkey had a very bad day. Looks like the local coyote pack had a delicious meal.

It is a bit worrying that Russia and USA may both be determined to get Canada. Do not like these times and the influence of greedy oligarchs eyeing our resources.

There is a global boycott underway against Chat GPT. Open AI is working with the Pentagon and ICE. They have donated $25 million to Trump. They are working for the authoritarians. People have the power to resist and send a message to the toxic tech bros.

Weird. I remember arguing with some of my Christian friends about this during the Iran-Iraq war on the 80s. The arrogance of trying to bring forth some sort of prophecy.
