They probably will. Current plan is assess after China and try changes at Suzuka. They were already having teams test different configurations in Bahrain. And given the all but official layoff more changes are possible. TLDR WiP.

Don't bring up Prost/Senna and Suzuka in the same sentence lol...

I do love the idea and BYD could afford to but even Audi bought an existing team. Anyone starting a brand new team will be looking are Cadillac levels when they start. Will also drop reminder Geely owns a chunk of Aston and BYD partners with Toyota now involved with Haas. Happy speculating

Less secrets and more maybe customer rules. They were changed around 2014 or 15 bc manufacturers were keeping some engine setting combinations off limits to customers but not to works teams. suspect that big difference here is management software that will fall outside that definition

Worth pointing out a lot of this is due to manufacturers having direct say in rules and choosing rainbows ponies and unicorns with cake for breakfast lunch and dinner then leaving engineers to clean up the mess.Tho it resulted in 2 very different solutions near parity which is lucky..

Yes. The energy split between battery and ICE can't be sustained at many tracks and this was easily predictable. There were/are many solutions to this etc. They left themselves room for adjusting things but reality was ignored lol...

Audi. F1 has long wanted them and was happy to "simplify" previous PU till they said yes, despite its being by far the most efficient one ever produced. Chuck in stupid marketing "50\50" irrational fear of front axle regen bc Audi WEC advantage (lol), subtract engineers who say no and well tada...

Ye is super lo deg surface. C3 has to cover a lotta ground so edge cases yield unique opportunities. Real tragedy is how wrong Ferrari was about C3 life times their still total lack of ability to observe and respond to realtime info aka everyone else has pitted lol. A "Zak in Vegas" moment for sure

So i have an F1TV account also and once i linked my apple account to it I was still able to use the F1TV app to watch and have yet to encounter commercials FWIW. It even let me connect directly to multiviewer. Did get commercials when i tried apple TV on Roku tho

Related the balance per track can be wildly different. Honestly if they'd started with "this is our goal by end of these regs and season 1 will involve a fair amount of data gathering and experimentation etc" maybe folks would be less bent out of shape.

they've already discussed rebalancing the numbers between harvest and deploy for this season but (hate to admit) sensibly giving it a few races to gather data rather than blind panic which is the more traditional route lol

Cool im OG F1TV from the Tata days and well imma just say spent a fair chunk of time w\ tech support early days instead of watching races lol. Glad you figured it out and I'd still suggest trying out multiviewer at some point (with a replay) if you haven't. happy sleep deprivation GP watching!

Lol made me look. 2019 Australia both Williams were 4s+ off pole. Might have been some after was just dropping the needle. If you want something really gory check out 2012 Australia. P19-P24 all outside 4s. Pole was 24.9 and it was 28.6, 29.0, 30.9, 31.6, 32.6 and 33.4. Last 2 kicked for 107%.

As soon as the 4 non Mercedes teams get tired of losing?

Consider the goal was a roughly 20% reduction in DF and how remarkably uncalculated the engine formula was, not too shabby

So breezing thru the feed and of all possible futures, rather than complaining about F1, lemme politely suggest if you have Apple TV now and haven't had an F1TV account, do yourself a favor, get one for free, then download multiviewer. Be sure to check out race trace on Sunday, it's fantastic!

As someone whose intense coverage of F1 overlapped the beginning of the 2014 regs lemme just say this is correct. Enjoy the drama and uncertainty while it lasts. Teams are doing their best to make it as boring as possible and they've had lots of practice lol.
