My friend @seracracroft.bsky.social post, the Welsh Government need to take REAL action that's properly funded to combat the sexual abuse of children.

This article manages to name her husband before it names… her.

Nigel Farage has not Tweeted about Michelle Mone once.

And in 2023 when the scandal first came up he said it wasn't a big deal.

He's not anti-Establishment he supports it more than anyone.

The effect of Donald Trump's largest tax cuts in history.

Only for the richest 10%, everyone else pays more.

Oh and Healthcare, Education and Public Services are completely destroyed too.

The sanctions will mean that both men are banned from entering Britain and prohibit any financial institutions based in the UK from dealing with them.

Times reporting UK will sanction far-right Israeli ministers Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezel Smotrich.

Smotrich approved expansion of West Bank settlements. Has said he wouldn't allow "a grain of wheat" into Gaza. Ben-Gvir has advocated the expulsion of Palestinians from Gaza.

While I welcome the action from the UK government…

It will never been forgotten that it took this many deaths and atrocities, and a UN warning that 14,000 babies are at risk of starving to death for them to take a stand

Utterly shameful.

Reeves faces anger from her local party over plans to cut disability benefits Labour members from Leeds West and Pudsey to write letter to chancellor over plans to reduce Pip payments

Rachel Reeves’ own constituency Labour party have voted unanimously to ask her to abandon her plans to cut disability benefits.

Seems like hanging the disabled out to dry is not what they thought they would be getting when they gave up their time to help get her elected.

Welfare cuts for the poor/disabled were not in Labour's election manifesto.

PM Keir Starmer said: β€œthose with the broadest shoulders should bear the heavier burden”. Then hit the poorest.

Biggest cuts since those imposed by Tories in July 2015.

There is no economic/moral justification.

One would hope that our MPs would be going out to bat for us but they have all, pathetically in my opinion, toed the party line.

As Wales has never been anything other than a loyal and quiet Labour voting part of the UK, UK Government’s have never had any reason to give it attention.

The UK Gov’s respective attitudes to Wales and Scotland are the same as a parent who has one obedient child and one that causes a fuss.

You inevitably spend all your time focusing on the problem child.

The reason that they devolved the Crown Estate to Scotland in the first place was because of the independence referendum in 2014.

It was an attempt to mollify the Scots. It is the exact same reason that UK Labour have decided to base the GB energy HQ in Aberdeen.

I am sorry but this is ridiculous.

Yes, devolving the Crown Estate would have complications but they were clearly not insurmountable when it came to the Scots.

Plaid MP Ben Lake in the Commons asked this very questions which UK Government minister James Murray basically ignored saying: "We are not analysing what may have happened in Scotland, historically"

10.03.2025 12:27 β€” πŸ‘ 19    πŸ” 5    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Another argument made is that it risks β€œmarket fragmentation, complicates existing processes, and delay further development offshore”

But this begs the questions, why wasn't this an issue for Scotland?

10.03.2025 12:27 β€” πŸ‘ 23    πŸ” 4    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

The UK Government knows there is going to be a big growth in money generated from the Crown Estate in Wales, and they want to keep that.

10.03.2025 12:27 β€” πŸ‘ 26    πŸ” 5    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 1

In Wales we are about to see a massive surge in projects that could generate money for the Crown Estate like floating offshore wind and wind turbines on land.

Devolving the Crown Estate would allow Wales to benefit from this money

10.03.2025 12:27 β€” πŸ‘ 29    πŸ” 9    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

While the total amount of annual revenue is small, it has massive potential to grow.

The Scottish Government gets to keep the benefit of any growth in the value of the energy or other resources generated in the seabed out to 12 miles offshore, and on the land that it leases.

Now in the grand scheme of things Β£35m isn’t much (the Welsh Gov budget is Β£23bn).

So does it really matter? Well there is more going on here than meets the eye.
