these pieces are a conversation with the creative process itself

a testament to the power of the chaotic order and a symbol of the strength found when control is relinquished

there is a certain catharsis to shaping something to your liking, and often when given to the world it comes back to you with new meaning.

some artists don't like the misinterpretation of their work. i say that the ambiguity lends itself to the work and encourages thought

this process mirrors the method in which i work - which is to say that i start with a goal or a specific intention during the creative process and it evolves into something completely different

occasionally there is a resemblance in form, but the concept is fully transmuted

like previous entries in the series, i start out with full control over forms, and shapes, dynamics, motifs, and message

but through layering, blending, and filtering those initial shapes lose their more distinct forms and become less contrived

my new work takes on a much more natural feel than previous entries in this collection - and it doesn't quite seem that way at first glance

i want to take some time to expand upon my recent work in discovery//invention with a small thread

this is a before and after of sorts
