I did get my social security check! It was a process and I logged in and called several times. Call, put the phone on speaker and do some work or watch a movie. After a couple hours someone eventually picks up. "efficiency"....

Well said! I did just get my social security check. It was a process and I called at regular intervals. Wait times are in excess of 120 minutes! It took getting to a human to figure out the delay. Instead of a 30 day process it was 62 days.

I finally received my first Social Security payment! It took multiple contacts. You apply online and then watch your online status. Mine stuck at the 2/3 mark. I made multiple phone calls to get a human being. One wait time was 1 hour, 52 minutes and 9 seconds! Turns out they needed more stuff.

I signed up for Social Security 1/15/2025, because the fairness act was signed. I finally got through to someone who told me 3/17/2025 I would have my benefits letter. Website said 30 days, but I'm new to SS. We'll see how it goes, will I get it after paying 24 years into it? Will let you know.

Not everyone has the means to leave the country. Even if they did, many won't leave their grown children who have families and can't afford to leave the country either. My husband turns 80 this year, he refuses to leave. I would, America is not the same country in which I grew up.
