I Want Rabies

I showed this piece for a dog themed group show at an Oakland diy gallery called Crisis Club. I think it looks more beautiful in real life 🐢

intentionality and sincerity are going to be so huge, people are going to crave weird, messy, authentic work created by human beings with a point of view and a need to communicate

β€œOur Moon is Out subtly depicts some of George Rodrigue's quintessential subject matter. The painting shows a Blue Dog in a landscape, but its restrained color palette of moody blues, purples, and black, encourages an appreciation for the work's exacting composition.
Rodrigue's signature oak tree acts as an anchor on the canvas. Its Spanish moss hangs over the perfectly round moon in the background, and its trunk and branches serve as a backdrop for the Blue Dog's commanding presence.
Rodrigue often referred to his paintings as puzzles, Our Moon is Out emphasizes the interconnectedness of each element on the canvas.”

Increasingly I feel like I favor furry because it espouses the idea that humans, for all our mastery over nature, are still animals. We need to nap and wander and frolic and utter strange noises. It is good for us to be weird little guys, which is something society is so committed to stripping away.

For people that feel helpless, this period is so tough but there's ways to help for anyone. Go out there support Venezuelan ppl and artists living in it as they prepare for unpredictable times

Here is a starter pack of artists with commissions or donations open as well:

one thing i want people in the us to consider when they think about whether or not to attempt direct aid towards venezuelans is how powerful a dollar is. in general in LATAM a dollar tends to be super valuable, but especially in places like venezuela and argentina it is HUGE.

Blockbuster interview about institutional transphobia at the New York Times that names names of the bigots responsible: A.G. Sulzberger, Joe Kahn, Carolyn Ryan at the top, plus Pamela Paul, Jeremy Peters, Azeen Ghorayshi, Katie J.M. Baker, & an entire anti-trans pro-mgmt splinter group in the union

It took nearly all of 2025 to fulfill a promise I made to myself at the end of the last year, but we've arrived. The seal has been broken, I will never again let idealized aesthetics get in the way of realizing a piece of art as pure self-expression.

Gustav Klimt's "Water Castle" captures a tranquil, almost dreamlike landscape with a richly textured depiction of foliage enveloping quaint architecture by the waterside. This painting showcases Klimt's distinctive style of blending realism with decorative, intricate detailing, reflective of his fascination with nature and serene settings.

'Trieste Harbour.' 1907 was an important year for Egon Schiele. He was still a student at the Vienna Academy and had outgrown its doctrines and its tutors. It was the year he first got to know Gustav Klimt, 'through' whom, as he later said, he was to reach his own unique style.

Tumblr post by and-fishing-equipment reading

"in 2026 DO NOT ask yourself whether your art is GOOD

instead ask:

- Is it SINCERE
- is it CATHARTIC
- was it FUN TO MAKE
- is it MADE BY ME

and don't forget to stay silly"
