Interested in the intersection of politics and media. Vengeance Democrat. GenX. Mostly learning and hitting that like button. I block a lot. No time to argue with misinformed attention-seekers, grifters, or their white knights

I haven’t listened to pt 2 yet. For sure will because pt 1 was enlightening. But I can’t help but see this as ultimately just another way for rich people to isolate themselves from society and “others”, even though there will be design and tech lessons that can be applied to existing communities.

I use Evie, which is sort of the EV sister service to Hourcar.

Crucially, for me, Evie allows one-way trips within a zone that covers most of Minneapolis and St. Paul.

In Biden's defense he executed a marvelous and needed experiment in whether deliverism works.

It doesn't.

Last night there was a person outside my local grocery store promoting a “no new property taxes” initiative. I tried to avoid but she got me. So I said “I like paying taxes. It’s what makes our living standards great here in CA”. Reactions from passersby was 🤯 disbelief. #classtraitor 😂

it's not just going to be serious debt people, tbh, like, it is actually going to a capital P problem by the time a dem takes office, not a made-up one, and anyone running for office this year or in two years is going to have to be part of a solution, we actually *can't* kick the can much further

one more note here: we are currently running absolutely astronomical deficits at the federal level, and nobody cares because a Republican is president

but the second a Dem gets back in the Very Serious Debt People will be back in force demanding safety net cuts

not a lot of room for tax cuts there

They're being sent as a tripwire.

The idea is that Iran will 'attack' the Marine expeditionary force, and that will 'justify' a full-scale war.

They're fucking bait. And as a former Marine, that is beyond disgusting.

But you're missing their intent, which was to further cement the lie that Harris (read all centrist/non left Dems) are beholden to lobbyists and listen to consultants over the "people".

Ironically the biggest example of the party ignoring voters for the wants of consultants was ousting Biden.

Also, nothing the piece claims are unfair, inaccurate hits against her are actually inaccurate or untrue.

She is a wealthy podcaster with no experience who’s never lived or worked here before. All true!! Her saying it isn’t, is what we used to call a “lie” before journalists decided lying is fine.

Before you take a pet, be a foster parent first. Because a pet is not a toy. It’s a lifestyle commitment. Don’t compare it to a relationship. Boyfriend or husband , you can get rid of them by breaking or divorce. But not your pet. It includes for sickness and health . Till death do us part!!!

The data also showed that most drivers — 64% — only triggered a warning once. But a smaller group of repeat offenders accounted for nearly two-thirds of all violations during the pilot period. About 30% of warned drivers were caught two to five times, and 4% received six to 10 warnings.

A handful of drivers pushed the numbers even further: 11 motorists racked up more than 30 warnings each during the five-week pilot.

“Who are those 11 people and why are they driving?” Rowan said.

Over one-third of Oakland speed warnings went to repeat offenders
Distribution of warnings by unique license plate during the pilot program from Jan. 14 to Feb. 21, 2026).

For 5 weeks, Oakland's new speed cameras have been issuing warnings. Starting March 15th, tickets will be mailed to people exceeding the speed limit by at > 10 mph.

So far the 18 locations have seen 140k instances of speeding.

Most people were sent one warning. 11 people have been sent 30+.

I had someone sincerely use this exact argument for why they hate speed cameras. I wasn’t expecting that level of car brained madness but that’s the world we’re in

Pretty much how our mainstream news media operates. To our grave detriment.

That Goldberg article was: I went to a Nazi rally and was SHOCKED to see so many Nazis.

She heard the preacher, and marveled at the choir.

I love the collective whiny lib left self care in the replies that this is a thing they can just do and it would be so easy but they won’t because they won’t fight blah blah blah.

This was exactly my question too. It seems reasonable to suspect a town of 400k high wage earners looking to isolate themselves from society at large will eventually seek to takeover Suisun government and force its will on the surrounding area.

There is nothing Democrats could ever possibly do that would get these people to stop lying about them.

Imagine someone with zero accomplishments in your field following you around work all day making smug, ignorant criticisms and constantly disparaging you at every turn because they own some stock in your company and thus feel entitled to bash you all day. Total loser behavior.

Quote from the linked article. “In the long run, this ruling may lead to a more collaborative approach between the White House and Congress on trade policy. Without the ability to act unilaterally under IEEPA, the administration must now build legislative consensus for its trade agenda—a tall order in the current political climate, but one that could ultimately lead to more durable and predictable international economic relations.”

A tall order indeed. This is gonna drive our 🤡 👑 insane 😆

I’m opposed to doing things that don’t meaningfully save consumers money (18 cents per gallon is at best a $2 savings) while driving down funds for road repair significantly and in an attempt to gain a political advantage for Dems that they won’t actually get.

See now THIS is a legit reason to criticize any Dems who get on board with this nonsense.

it's easy to sit on our perch of non-responsibility and tell democrats they should let the bankruptcies and bodies pile up as high as possible for the hypothetical political reward they get for it, I imagine it's a lot harder when you're getting calls about how many constituents are losing it all

What does saying "I'm anti-war" when the candidate/president is pro-fascist? He promised a revenge tour, has openly idolized and sought out alliances with dictators who routinely engage in violence against their own people. Why did they think this outcome wasn't probable?
