Huzzah, we're back in business.
08.08.2025 20:18 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 010/10 wow factor for sure, even a decade later. But yeah, scores way lower on a usability front.
08.08.2025 19:53 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0After some rummaging I found this travel mouse, but navigating through Fusion 360 with this thing is no fun.
08.08.2025 19:27 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0My mouse wheel wasn't working right so I took it apart to clean it, only to realize that I needed a new rubber ring on the wheel to fix the issue.
"No problem, I can design and 3D print new one," I thought, sitting down to my computer.
At which point I realized I didn't have a mouse.
Koopa's first hike! Well, the first not in our woods, anyway. He unsurprisingly loved it. Maybe a little too much. We gotta work on that leash discipline.
01.08.2025 16:56 β π 12 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Y'all need to buy more Brandon Bird stuff.
31.07.2025 20:17 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It is indeed, but I'd rather the single.
31.07.2025 11:53 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Spending a week with this charmingly canary yellow Volvo EX30. Will be putting it through its paces, even even doing a little testing with the pup. I'd all goes well I'll do a little video with it before it turns into a pumpkin. What would y'all like to know?
31.07.2025 00:16 β π 12 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I know I'm late to the party but I just managed to catch Together the movie before it disappeared from my local theater. I really enjoyed it. Bigtime Cronenberg vibes with a hint of Lovecraftian overtones. If that sounds like a good time, go check it out.
30.07.2025 19:50 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm tardy in sharing this from this past weekend, but my latest feature for @arstechnica.com is a ride on the electric Stark Varg EX. It's incredibly powerful and wildly capable, yet still needs a little more time in the oven before it's ready for the masses.

I had always hoped that hybrids would be a brief, transitional phase. Turns out theyβre going to be here for awhile, and with examples like these, I can get behind that.
Check out my impressions of the BMW M5, Porsche 911 GTS, and Lamborghini Temerario.

25.07.2025 23:15 β π 203 π 9 π¬ 4 π 0The Huracan was the first Lamborghini I ever drove, and so it's always had a special place in my heart. I was a bit nervous in testing its replacement, the Temerario. Being bigger and heavier and losing that V10 has to be a downgrade, right?
Wrong. It's epic.

Why not both?
24.07.2025 23:52 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0This nice, light, fluffy press release underscores a more serious point: Ford has had fewer big problems with #EV + hybrid batteries than GM (with the Bolt EV recall of LG packs) or Stellantis (too numerous to list since 2016 Pacifica 'Hybrid').
A quarter of a million miles on an EV: not bad! (1/2)
It is, my friend, it is.
21.07.2025 21:04 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Greetings from Estoril in Portugal. It's Lamborghini Temerario day! Amazing to be at such a historic circuit. I remember watching many epic F1 battles in the early '90s here on TV. Today should be pretty epic too.
21.07.2025 08:21 β π 12 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Such an amazing collection of cars at this yearβs Goodwood Festival of Speed. Picking my favorites was so hard that even the Red Bull RB17 didnβt make the cut!

Not sure who at Arrow McLaren is responsible for this epic pinball- and hockey- themed poster for the Grand Prix of Toronto, but I love it.
17.07.2025 17:14 β π 9 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0Wrapping up a day spent testing the new @audiusa A6 and S6 Sportback E-Tron Quattros. (Or is it E-Trons Quattro?) As per usual I can't tell you what I think just yet, but until I can I hope you enjoy these pictures of the beautiful terrain around Santa Barbara.
16.07.2025 13:39 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0I love that the main focus on the Hyundai Ioniq 6 N isn't speed (though it's plenty fast) nor quickness (though it is quick, too) but fun. And it looks, and sounds, like it should be plenty fun indeed.
My latest for @arstechnica.com.

There were so many screaming hypercars at Goodwood this week, each promising new heights of performance, yet none approaching the speed of the Rimac Nevera R, which zipped up the hill with barely a sound.
A meditation on that in my latest newsletter:

BTW since we're close friends I don't mind telling you that I broke into tears when I walked into the woods and heard the engines roaring through the forest for the first time. After watching WRC for 30 years I'd never physically been to a forest stage and I got overwhelmed.
Next stop, Finland?
I really, really, really wanted to spend all day there.
Duty called :(
Come on a walk with me up to the top of the hill at Goodwood, where the rally cars live. #wrc

I think that's a good sign for a brand looking for a new target demo, no?
Me, I think it's stunning. That blue is outrageous in person.
Almost certainly the most controversial car here, the Jaguar Type 00. At @seyth.bsky.social's suggestion I went and just listened to the conversation. Amazing to hear the divide, with the older males generally mocking the thing, and the women generally enraptured.
11.07.2025 13:52 β π 42 π 2 π¬ 15 π 22I got a quick first look inside the Hyundai Ioniq 6 N and at its retooled engine notes. The Hyundai N boss said it was improved from the 5 N's sound based on my initial review! I'll try not to let my head get too big, but just the same, you're welcome.
Anyway, here's the sound
