The challenge w/ reports like these are correlational relationships vs. causation. They did plenty, but which elements were most impactful? (spoiler - cannot definitively answer this). There's a lot of debate about the effectiveness and research with #BTC (Building Thinking Classrooms). I prefer the middle route - elements of BTC certainly do line up with well-researched practices, but not all. Given its popularity I expect more explicit research on BTC to come. bit.ly/btcandvl

This is the problem with Title IX and EO's. Each administration takes agency, agency they're allowed bc Congress didn't do their jobs, and swings the guidance/regs wildly the other direction. No matter your position on the/whatever issue, I hope the process problem bothers all equally.

One of my favorite IES resources are the practice guides. There are 5 guides with the research about teaching math. Given the two stop work orders I received last night (to stop work on 2 upcoming IES STEM practice guides), I'd download these now.

Heard a teacher talk about learning that 3rd grade was too early, but have not been able to find any evidence myself.
