Whoever invented interrupting the hold music every 30s to tell you about the website should be remembered as one of the great villains of history
On the one hand, the page content is just a .gif of what a webpage might look like and it loads a version of jQuery from 2014, but on the other hand it says "envelop" and I like that
Stacking these methods is the functional equivalent of having a secret portrait in the attic
Now let's never do it again
Yes, please
I love him, thank you for sharing
Daylight Saving Time can go to hell
"It's not like it used to be" == "I moved to the outer suburbs and go downtown once a year, which is somehow your fault"
Being kinda bad at something is a perfectly valid destination, too. I love it when someone's eye and imagination clearly have a vision but their hands simply aren't trained to cooperate, it's so human and charming
"Our light is too valuable to be wasted on vainglory."
In Toronto it collapsed well before covid, as skyrocketing rents and deliberately anti-fun action by the city rapidly degraded everyone's stability and access to physical spaces. We're now seeing a resurgence, though, driven in large part by kids who lost their high-school years to the pandemic
Because everything in the built environment presumes nobody exists under 5'6"
Good news, everyone!
All else aside, anyone who calls me "an account" is getting blocked
Already, the evenings are getting shorter. Daylight Saving Time steals so much from us
Looking forward to this! BTW for future posts we are currently in Eastern Standard Time or EST, as Daylight Time ended in November (or you could just use ET and not have to worry about that)

You're welcome!
I agree that there are productive and unproductive ways to engage with those topics, and X has long since ceased to be productive. My feed here is certainly not short of death nor politics, but the tone is decidedly less hostile and more oriented toward solutions
What is important here is that this is a public forum, where everything we post is observed by both allies and enemies alike, and the decision to engage with critical or hostile commentary always needs be considered within that context
I might prefer "productive" as a descriptor simply because "positive" has more cultural baggage to overcome; it doesn't inherently imply "good vibes only", but will often be interpreted that as such, which bad-faith actors will levy as supposed evidence of coercive control or suppression of dissent
It's not the same thing in the same way that another artist riffing on my work is different from a t-shirt bot
If someone has a legitimate concern and I'm the right person to hear it, they will know a more appropriate way to approach me
Doing our infighting in public is a massive tactical failure, and I'm really not interested in addressing criticisms from people who aren't also working with me toward solutions, so an app like this is almost never going to be the right place for such discussions
Do whatever the hell you like, but I just said that's not what I'm here for and you will not accomplish anything by trying to force it on me
There is a valid place for constructive criticism, but this app is not it. I question the motivations of those who prioritise having an audience for their complaints over having an actual path toward resolving them
You can buy adhesive power-button covers for that sort of thing!
It came out in June and is IMO their best by far
