Presented today at INDIGO, the 2024 Games Monitor reveals steady growth in the Dutch games industry—even as the global sector faces serious challenges. Revenue rose to a record €763M, with more active studios and increasing use of generative AI.

5. Most interviewees were adement: 'Use isn't optional anymore, it's a matter of survival'
6. Strong opinions across the board: only 1% had 'no opinion' on GenAI, while 23% actively oppose its use in game dev

2. Applied/serious game studios show 3x higher adoption rates vs entertainment studios (we propose some reasons in the full report, link in comments)
3. Heavy use in concept phase, not for production assets
4. Music & audio seem surprisingly resilient to genAI (for now)

We asked the publisher to pull it when it turned out the port wasn't what we expected it to be --and the publisher didn't want to fund updates. This has been the case since quite quickly after launch.

Yeah, that badge-thingy is strange. Never quite get the conditions. Same for full controller support. You have everything in order, but then proving you have seems to be more complicated. At least, last time we tried.

Als de een de ander schoffeert, heet dat geen ‘ruziën‘. Veel nieuwsmedia laten ons weer danig in de steek.
Net als met het woord ‘polarisatie’: als één groep radicaliseert en de ander niet, dan is dat geen polarisatie.
Ik zou willen dat journalisten hun woorden zorgvuldiger kozen.

It sure seems like it.
Most (semi) government agencies in Europe pay Microsoft. Microsoft pays Trump. Trump is trying to cripple Europe.

We should seriously start to consider European alternatives to Windows, Teams and Office.

Played it on launch. From start to finish. (On a PC.) Thought it had so many great ideas, narratively speaking, well executed. Found myself really surprised no-one was talking about those aspects of the game. It has been there, right from the start.
