Over the (nearly full) moon to announce a new Amina Cain is on the way. This exquisite, enigmatic novel will slip under your skin and into your dreams. Forever grateful to Amina (and Devon at FSG) for trusting us with her brilliance.

Gladys Mae West obituary: mathematician who pioneered GPS technology She made key contributions to US cold-war science despite facing huge barriers as a Black woman.

No joke: I got angry hate mail today for writing an obituary of a Black woman scientist—because the person felt she did didn’t deserve the recognition.

Which just makes me want to share it again: www.nature.com/articles/d41...

She asks if you've seen the sea, asks if it's day, if it's light.
You say the sun's rising, but that at this time of year it takes a long time to light up the whole sky.
She asks you what color the sea is.
You say: Black.
She says the sea's never black.
You must be mistaken.

Proofs are really fun because essentially we don't have to get approval from anyone. We just send the designers the copy and... give them free rein... these are two of our summer novels and couldn't be more different ALTHOUGH, mind you, both have masculinity and belonging at their heart

I love their finished jackets but I DO often really, really love our proofs - these two being good examples!! Hope you enjoy both...
