Digital control of feedback phase to control radiation damping in water: a project I started from level zero and finally completed. Now the Bruker AU program is capable of finding the radiation damping suppression phase fully automatically.

Finally, the 16-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC714) is working. In a few weeks, Bruker Topspin will take control of the DAC via FPGA (UART and SPI). And then the phase shifter of the radiation damping control unit.

The FPGA programming is completed for controlling a voltage-controlled phase shifter via a 16-bit DAC (DAC714) using SPI for a digitalized radiation damping control unit for doing feedback-based Maser/Raser experiments.

I have attended all summer schools (2020, 2023 to 2025) at Schloss Windischleuba (a beautiful castle) in Germany, organized by Jörg Matysik (Uni. of Leipzig). These schools have been my only classroom experience in learning NMR. Feel free to explore them yourself.

The voltage induced by the spins will not be affected but voltage measured by the spectrometer may be affected. Because the vibration affects the impedance (my assumption), in the derivation I only assumed the impedance phase would be affected (hence the sidebands). I think |Z| may get modulated too
