Poet, horror writer, trans, autistic, tired. Maybe this is finally the profile I can talk about movies. Not ai, I just talk like that.

Cover of Tainaron: Mail from Another City by Leena Krohn TAINARON
MAIL FROM ANOTHER CITY the first American book by
LEENA KROHN, internationally acclaimed Finnish author.
TAINARON consists of a series of letters-sent beyond the sea from a city of insects.
TAINARON is a book of changes. It speaks of metamorphoses that test all of nature: from a flea to a star, from stone and grass to human. The same irresistible force that gives us birth, also kills us.
Nominated for the prestigious Finlandia Prize, this is a perfect introduction to the work of a modern fabulist.
$29.95

This is the best thing I’ve read all year. And maybe, if I convince enough people to read it, it will come back in print so I can own a copy. The synopsis is simple: a woman sends letters to her ex lover about her time in a city populated by anthropomorphic insects.

Little Excavator was often ‘taking a nap’ when my littlest brother (20 year age gap, he’d only sleep if I put him to bed so while not a parent, parent adjacent) was a toddler and I stand by that choice of lying to a child, so I Very feel you here

I’m sorry I implied leftists didn’t support sexual liberation. I’m sorry I didn’t curate my followers well enough. I’ll make sure to do better in the future.

I am not saying leftists or leftism is bad. I am saying online leftists conduct in group out group sorting in a way that worsens my existing mental illness. They can do this I just don’t have to engage

Like. That’s the kind of people who built the culture on here, the ‘surveil all your online activities for proper adherence to leftist morality’ that I stopped using Twitter to avoid in the first place bc it was just a constant ocd trigger but. Why would I willingly engage in another ocd simulator

Logs into Bluesky:

Bluesky: writing erotica is immoral because it’s a form of exhibitionism you’re inflicting on people who can’t consent

Anyways I do think that’s part of why teens aren’t reading. They can’t read anything good bc the right wingers AND the leftists think giving kids The Wrong Books is sexual abuse. When I was a kid only conservatives thought that. Now everybody does so kids don’t know What’s Out There

I told this story on Twitter once & a leftist bookstore owner told me I’d been sexually abused by this. Which is funny bc I had already been molested at that point and it certainly didn’t involve literature. Which is funny bc nobody believes that bc I’m not the Right Kind Of Crazy.

My beloved high school English teacher I had for two years running handed me Kindred while saying ‘I’d love to teach this but I’d get fired if I did’ and that got me more excited than any YA book where a girl Embraces Femininity To Overcome Trauma.

I think part of why teens aren’t reading is bc the pendulum swung so hard towards ‘YA only until your brains are developed’ & they’re bored. I was a big reader as a teen bc my teachers kept handing me fucked up vintage sci fi, something Nice Progressive Book Types have implied was grooming actually

Editing Commissions: Open!
Are you writing a book? A paper for school? A fanfiction you are extremely attached to? Literally anything?

I can edit that!
My Credentials: I was an editorial assistant at a small press publisher for 3 years, and have been a freelancer for one! I also have: an MFA in poetry and a BA in history.

I have edited: novels, poetry, memoirs, teaching guides, and memoirs.

I have done: developmental editing, line editing, copy editing, proofreading, and more! Everything from helping a book become a book, rather than a scattered collection of notes, to a final glance to make sure nothing is spelled wrong.

ESL: No problem! I've worked on several works in translation, and by ESL academics, helping bridge the gap between their knowledge and the language barrier.

I am comfortable with: almost everything! Got erotica you're nervous to show your usual beta reader? I want to edit that. A novel with taboo topics with a laundry list of trigger warnings you're tired of explaining? I want to edit that. A children's book? I've done it before and can do it now. I want to edit that. Memoir you don't want to show anyone you know? I want to edit that. School paper you're insecure about? I want to edit that. Not comfortable with: picture books. Never done it, not sure how. If you really want to we can talk about something.

Rates: Usually about 2 cents a word, $3-5 a page, and anywhere from $15-30 an hour. But: I will never late a stated rate stop us from working together! I'm posting this because I am in a precarious financial state right now, so I can't work for free at the moment, but I would rather let someone pay what they can than miss out entirely.

Payment: On Venmo or Paypal. I am trans so the name on them is not what I go by. I prefer installment payments vs a lump sum, but anything's negotiable.

So: Writing something? Need an editor? DM me! I'd love to help your work be the best it can be.

Rarely Post on here but I'm in a really sticky financial situation, so if anyone needs an editor or knows someone who does: consider letting me know! Reblogs really appreciated.

they're not pickle flavored, they Taste Like A Pickle which is weirdly mind blowing considering the sheer amount of pickle snacks i have tried at this point in my life

Vlasic pickle balls

I never post on here but this is a novelty flavor alert that I can’t relegate to a 5 person discord server: if you see these: buy them immediately. I don’t even like corn puffs usually and I am saying this. Very Good Snack

I’m so glad I’m not an undergrad now because getting accused of using ai for the crimes of knowing words and being autistic would have made me completely check out of class, and it’s something I see professors blame students for on here Every Day

I’m just kinda at the point in kicking my ocd into submission that I can’t partake in ‘social structure built around morality surveillance’ anymore

Half the posts on here are apologies in which people debase themselves for sins like ‘read a Bad Author’ or ‘got excited about Immoral Tv Show’ or ‘articulated leftist talking point of the day in an inelegant matter’ just like old Twitter! You know! The stuff that made old Twitter suck!

I don’t wanna make an excited post about a library book sale and then get 500 responses about how used books are basically stealing and I’m irredeemably evil and going on a List, or express enjoyment for the Wrong Short Story, or make a joke about a hot guy people take as a dig at his woman co star
