What’s really wrong with design is the lack of Blocks
Absolutely loving where @fenix-15.bsky.social and my Rydia list is at right now. Deck feels explosive and consistent. cEDH Dredge is real folks
Remiss to not also mention Khans, which is really on the tail end of this stretch, but we needed a Wedge block and I think it mostly delivered
This was my first 6 years of Magic, and while there could be nostalgia impacting my opinion, I do believe this to be possibly the best stretch of Magic sets in the game’s history
At long last this has been officially spoiled. I’ve been testing it in Rydia and it’s insanely good in the deck. Super synergistic with the deck’s gameplan and even has some combos (they’re like 3.5 cards but it’s fine)
Want another? Try out Summer Bloom + Gruul Turf + Nissa/Lotus Cobra. Play Summer Bloom to allow you to play Turf 3x, each time generating a mana and rummaging. Escape Bloom to do it all again.
The easiest one is Crop Rot + Dredge. Next to no mana required to kick start it and can even be done at instant speed! When the new land from Crop Rot enters, discard your Dredge card and then Dredge X to get it back.
Rydia is really cool. She draws a lot of cards and gets to her gameplan really consistently. But did you know she has her own unique Underworld Breach lines?
