You may have noticed that the SNES Mario Circuit 3 course has appeared more times in Mario Kart games than any other course: Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Mario Kart Wii, Mario Kart Tour, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Mario Kart World (as part of Mario Circuit) Development files for Super Mario Kart reveal that it was actually the first course ever made for that game, and by extension the entire Mario Kart series. As such, the decision to keep using it is likely the track's emotional significance to the team as the place where it all began. In the battle against Ludwig in Super Mario World, if the R button is used to scroll the camera so that Ludwig is barely on screen, he will be able to be hit with fireballs without retaliating. He will just stand there smiling while Mario shoots him, and die after 12 hits.

MK has a lot of "division" in a sense. 2D to 3D was tough, then all the sequels on many console gens throughout the years. It lost its appeal to many genxers, and only hardcore fans stuck. The fact that the games are stuck on those older consoles doesn't help bridge the gap. Misunderstood franchise.

I think there was something like that for the N64, theu could build on that.

I don’t want more Mario Maker. I want a full sequel to Mario Paint:

-More fleshed out beginners program to digital art, animation, & music akin to PS, Flash, etc
-Expand on Mario Artist Polygon/Talent Studio’s 3D modeling & animation tools
-Joycon mouse controls
-Online portal to share creations

In the Goopy Inferno mission in Super Mario Sunshine, one of the Piantas is an unexpected Chuckster. A player who talks to him and happens to tilt the Analog Stick in an unfortunate direction after exiting the dialogue will make him throw Mario with enough momentum to kill him.
