One of the lessons of the Iran war is that it was a huge mistake not to even try to put any of the Iraq war architects in prison. We shouldn’t make it again.

This is disgusting, but also a tacit admission of just how horrible and indefensible it is.

they use a clip from superman, "I'm here to fight for truth, and justice, and the american way." the next line in the movie is lois lane: "you're going to end up fighting every elected official in this country!"

β€œAt the end of the day, she didn’t sound any better than some of these ultra-conservative people who were demeaning Black and Brown folk on a regular basis,” said Rev. Rodney Sadler, a Bible scholar and longtime community activist in Charlotte. β€œIt felt like a betrayal of the utmost.”

Cunningham’s comments proved so problematic for Sadler that he said he realized that she was β€œno longer worthy of being our representative” and he had to run against her. β€œIt drove me to a point of saying, β€˜She needs to go, and she needs to go now,’” the 58-year-old pastor, who works at Charlotte’s Union Presbyterian Seminary, told Bolts.

this guy challenged a sitting Democratic lawmaker in yesterday's primary, angered by her pro-ICE vote, and he ousted her 70% to 22%.

this is not an amount of money any individual or household should be able to have and we have to abolish both billionaires as a group and the economic system that makes them possible

We can’t clean up Washington without restoring integrity to the Supreme Court.

That’s why I believe we should expand the Supreme Court to 13 justices. And then, institute term limits.

Because an appointment to the Supreme Court shouldn’t mean a lifetime lack of accountability.

Avatar: Fire and Ashβ€”Dreamwalking and the Book of Eywa Avatar: Fire and Ashβ€”the end of one trilogy and the potential beginning of anotherβ€”is the darkest, most complex, and personal of the three.

I wrote 6,000 words on AVATAR for @brightwalldarkroom.com, diving into how James Cameron's stereoscopic dreamland is a conduit for a radical, transportive empathy that harkens back to the origins of cinema itself:

he could have easily gotten away with doing this for four years if he wasn't so committed to also crashing the economy and doing extrajudicial murders. if he got into office and just sat around building a ballroom and cutting billionaires' taxes he'd be at 42% approval like term 1

It shouldn't be too much to say that you oppose the bombing of girls in schools and that if we set the standard for assassinating foreign heads of state at "sure, but he was a bad and evil guy," that you could then justify that action against dozens of other leaders.

Trump has launched an illegal regime change war.

As someone who has survived the horrors of war, I know military strikes will not make us safer; they will inflame tensions and push the region further into chaos.

When we abandon diplomacy, we choose destruction.

this bill is legitimately a three-alarm fire. if they manage to define trans existence as explicit then there is nothing stopping them from genocide. i need every single cis person talking about this, calling their reps, getting out in the streets.

media reviews of trump’s state of the union will be the same as biden’s last one: all β€œwow, he spoke at length!” and β€œnot the worst we’ve ever seen him!β€œ everyone will then express incredulity when his poll numbers obviously don’t recover because he looks like death and the economy is bad

33 of the people pardoned by Trump for January 6 have committed more crimes including molesting children and killing people while drunk driving.
