ICE killing #AlexPretti should remind you of police killing #PhilandoCastille. Both men had concealed weapon permits, did not draw their guns, & were killed in Minn. These homicides are the price of unaccountable policing. These deaths are variations on the same fatal theme.

Care is an act of resistance. Engage as much as you can in direct forms of resistance now. But don’t discount the value and necessity of care.

The actions you take to provide care for your community are necessary for survival. Don’t think you’re “doing nothing” when providing care to people.

The life we lead is the solution, not the test. A lesson in standpoint theory reminds me that we don't "overcome" who we are. We overcome the world.

Your identities and experiences are not struggles you "get over." They're the building blocks of your power in the world.

The Oscars today was that one gay guy with a BFA who's drunk at the bar absolutely ranting at how shitty the second act of WICKED is.

So what you're saying is corporate executives are less skilled than an algorithm but hoard wealth and exploit workers with actual skills.

Your weapon against queerphobia? Authenticity. Bring yourself to the table of your life. It's a pushback to the forces fighting us.

Not hard to believe. It’s been happening to Black citizens for ages.

What if, instead of worrying that someone else is doing what you do, you support them and amplify what both of you are doing?

Aside from the bad faith mischaracterization of their content here, this also messes up the chronology. The “woke” social movements of the 2010s were strongest from 2014-2020—so, mostly while Trump was in power. Covid killed them.

They are always going to hate us. Stop seeking straight approval. Queer people policing other queer people's queerness will never make the straight world accept you.

I think we spend too much time policing each other's queerness in an attempt to appease straightness. It's a battle we won't win.

Sure. The annoyance is more the assertion that someone knows what “real gay life” is, particularly when it always is just a reflection of *their* gay life.

Becoming a hockey fan is the most I’ve cared about straight men in years.

When the critique is “well that’s not representing *real* gay life!” And then they point to something they consider represents “real” gay life and it has nothing to do with any gay life I’ve ever lived.

This semester is likely going to kill me, but I am so stoked to do the mountain of work this semester requires.
