Didn’t come up.
Per a US official the fire is out and damage control operations like looking for hot spots, clean up etc.
Unclear how bad the fire was, CENTCOM says the carrier is fully operational.
Not an official name, just a headline construction
Here’s a table setter for what an escort mission would look like. With lots of stuff on mine warfare.
Still holds up.
Elmer Royce Williams' MiG fight is nuts.

We are almost positive this mission originated on a US Navy ESB operating in PACOM based on the videos.
To all who celebrate, happy Twin Peaks day.
Our story from Friday is pulling up old wounds for the Nimitz COVID deployment that kept sailors from their familes for almost a year due to quarantine restrictions. All told, the CSG was out for 263 days for national tasking. That doesn't crack our top 10, to the irriation of many NIM families.
I love all kinds of grackles.
Big Grackle fan here.

The eastern med isn’t bad, you have pretty good access to Souda Bay.
The Arabian Sea and the Red Sea not so much.
If this deployment goes past May 5, it’s going to be the longest since the 1970s. All of those 300+ day deployments were in support of the Vietnam war with easy access to liberty ports.
Spotted in my FB feed. Who is telling family members that posting about ship positions will extend a deployment?
There's a difference between reminding people to be responsible and scaring them unnecessarily. Is this guidance ombudsmen are passing to families?
Also, Lincoln is now in CENTCOM.
USS Theodore Roosevelt is not deployed. They're underway doing workups. Deployed strike groups are Ford and Lincoln and technically George Washington (which is always deployed but currently getting wrenched on in Japan and not ready to go).
They sure did!
I keep seeing this T-shirt slop on Navy affinity pages.
What a photo.
The hangar light orange — *chef's kiss*
Of course a dork from Indiana punches the clock on the season.
New battleship card.
The Navy is "not walking away from ASW" but few deatils on how this is gonna work.
There's a Connex boxmarked ASW on the slide.
