I have maintained my weight for a year now. My current dose is very low and seems to manage the food noise. Then it’s up to me to make good choices about what I eat. Weighing less also makes it easier to move so exercise is easier to do.
I get that, but this is a hormone analog, not an amphetamine

I think we still don’t know what happens long term. Maybe if a lower weight is maintained for long enough it becomes a new set point? We might have to try weaning off every couple of years.
I am so sorry. Seems like keeping people who have had good results with their medications on them would be the most economical thing long term.

Lost 65 lbs and a1c went from 6 to 5. Stay on the lowest dose that is effective for you. It varies a lot between people.
My advice is to stay on your dose as long as you are seeing an effect. You do not have to ramp up as quickly as the drug inserts recommend. I stayed at 0.25 for 4 months. Then went to 0.5 and that’s where I have stayed since.

You can try cutting back to see, and it’s probably always best to be on the lowest dose that is effective to maintain your weight. That’s what I’m doing.
I tried, and the food noise does come back. I am now reading that this is a common experience and we probably need to think of these drugs as managing a chronic condition.
We never say this about other medications that treat chronic conditions, like high blood pressure. We need to stop stigmatizing metabolic syndrome.
