Our games from an isometric perspective but without locking to a grid. Bringing parts together in more organic compositions. Been lush drawing so much nature, inspired by a lot of walks with the kids.

Verrrry excited to share that I've been working with Nosebleed Interactive on Vampire Crawlers and helping them out with lots of design-ey things!
Its great when you can draw influence from things you enjoyed as a kid. Any one else have these books?

More insight behind the fantastic work James has been doing for us on #Thingamajigs!
It's honestly so cool seeing how far we've come in developing our style for our upcoming game #Thingamajigs! Awesome art by awesome people :)
This first pass of Thingamajigs characters was really fun to draw, little'uns, larpers and other folks. We've since had the brilliant Natasha Molins refine these AND loads of new folks and fauna, including some VERY cute ducks.

Make sense in what way? :)
Visually it looks maybe like clouds and some mountain peaks popping out above the cloud layer? If that's the case, maybe seeing something with motion to show the clouds as a non-solid landscape would be helpful :)
Game looks cool though :D
My mate Cat invited me on her podcast and let me nerd out about being a freelance designer :D
Hopefully some useful nuggets of wisdom here and there, including a breakdown of my process for breaking down and analysing a game's design / direction!
Go check it out if that sounds neat :)

As long as it doesn't just lie about what you're committing, it's sure to be better than "stuff" xD Hope it works out!
I'm usually pretty good with comments, but sometimes we just need to splooshify the UI
Once you plop you just can't stop.
We really wanted to make something that could be the chillest part of someone's day and help them unwind with some gentle, pleasant silliness. One of our main philosophies for Thingamajigs is "the sun is always on" - meaning we approach everything with positive vibes and warmness :)
It originated as this lovely little number I made with my friends as a quick game idea. vatnisse-interactive.itch.io/nippets
This is our new take on it using the same tools we made (now much improved!).
Gotta do it yo, talent deserves a spotlight :)
Had a lovely chill chat with my lovely mate Cat :D Awesome to get the chance to share some (hopefully?) useful design-ey insights.

Cheers Cat!
Thanks man! Still lots of improvements to make but all the lovely art from @animatorjames.bsky.social helps make anything look better :P
Finding references for level design really does lead to the most interesting collection of chrome tabs
I got this book for Christmas and have been thoroughly enjoying it so far. I think it's the first in the series but it's go some delightfully dark humour.

Does anyone else force their friends to play bad co-op games as a sort currency? It's been 2 years since I was forced to endure Outward and I'm finally cashing in my ticket. He's literally counting the minutes until his obligated game time has been met xD
Ended the first day of 2025 desperately sipping a glass of wine with my wife while frantically bathing a wee-covered baby and a poo-covered toddler. Consider my expectations set for the next 12 months.
