In 2014 Claire's two sons, Jack and Paul, were killed by their father, despite her warnings that he was a danger to them.
Since then, Claire has fought to repeal the presumption of parental involvement, which allows known domestically abusive parents contact with their children.
I’m incredibly excited to announce the launch of my podcast – Tidballzy!
It's going to be the place where the brave stories and big ideas that are shaping our politics get discussed.
And who better for my first guest than Claire Throssell? Britain’s most formidable campaigner.
Yesterday I voted to repeal the presumption of contact.
This is Jack and Paul’s law. Claire Throssell MBE and I spoke to ITV Calendar about what a difference this will make to the lives of generations of children to come.
Over the moon that my amazing constituent has been named as part of #WiW100 Women in Westminster.
11yrs after the deaths of her beautiful boys Jack and Paul, her campaign to repeal the presumption of contact is on the cusp of being delivered by our Labour govt.
Reform want to scrap the Equality Act 2010.
So what has the Equality Act done for us? 👇
Too often, disabled women and our bodies are deemed not to count.
But disabled women are making babies, having babies and being brilliant mothers.
I look forward to meeting with Wes Streeting soon to discuss tackling the inequalities disabled women face 👇️

His campaigning work to make other people’s lives better continues. Today the Government’s National Cancer Strategy has been published. It sets out how we will improve cancer care, to ensure three quarters of people diagnosed with cancer will survive for 5 years or more by 2035.
Today is World Cancer Day - an issue which touches so many of our lives.
I’m thinking of family members who are living with terminal cancer and my friend, Nathaniel Dye, who passed away last week of stage 4 bowel cancer. He taught me to squeeze every drop of joy out of life.
So proud to vote yesterday to lift 1,000 children across our Penistone and Stocksbridge constituency out of poverty.
I voted for the Universal Credit Bill, which lifts the two-child benefit cap.
Poverty robs our children of opportunity. It’s our moral mission to break this vicious cycle.

“Art is eternal, but life is short” - Evelyn de Morgan. Your art in living will continue to sustain and influence us for the better, Nat. Rest well.
I’m utterly heartbroken to hear of the death of Nathaniel Dye MBE.
Musician, teacher, campaigner and friend to so many of us. Nat was a beautiful man with a heart of gold. He squeezed every last drop of joy out of life and taught me so much about why living a good death matters.
Out on the doors in Silkstone Common - picked up lots of potholes and highways maintenance issues, including the speed bumps in need of maintenance on Knabbs Lane and Ben Banks Road. We’ll be raising with the Council.
Lots of constituents have written to me about delays in the postal service. Causing delays in receiving NHS letters and other urgent mail.
Minister McDougall told me he has called in Royal Mail management next week to make it clear we need to see this service urgently improved.
AND you can’t lose your home over tiny debts anymore, as we’re scrapping forfeiture and introducing a new, fairer system.

The government are capping ground rents at £250 a year to stop spiralling bills! Even better than that, after 40 years it will be cut to a peppercorn rent - so nothing you won’t pay anything.
Today is Holocaust Memorial Day. This marks over 80 years since the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau in 1945.
I signed the HolocaustUK Book of Commitment, pledging my commitment to honour the six million Jewish men, women, and children who were murdered during the Holocaust.
