also just fuck writers who don't treats their artists with respect as co-writers and collaborators. The horror stories I have heard...we can make comics on our own, go be a prose writer if you care about your words so much
No book is going to turn kids into someone else. But books will regularly show kids other people like them and show those kids they're not alone. And they'll show kids other types of people who also exist. There is a large proportion of the population who are terrified of this.

ohh no, had something similar happen with my last ER visit (was also dehydrated, partially the reason why I was there), tho I know my veins are difficult, usually get blood drawn my wrist, oooooh the nurse was DETERMINED
this definitely goes hand in hand with all the connectivity, knowledge sharing, and activism that made the peak pandemic years on tiktok so invigorating and the fake genAI black and brown creator accounts now plaguing the app
it's been very interesting being on tiktok since lockdown where I watched people to slow down and pick up crafting, then make videos to promote the business with the goods they make, only for GenAI to swoop in and try to capitalize on the illusion of making something
like we knew they were obsessed with the aesthetics of art making and just want the clicks but...often times artisans and crafters make process videos to throw online to get eyes on their products to sell them meanwhile some do it just to educate, get people interested in picking up the craft
genAI slop thumpers making craft "process videos" that not only use AI footage of someone making a leather bag or stain glass piece, but use stolen footage from actual artisans is probably the most pathetic thing I've learned

meanwhile the line between self loathing and narcissism is microscopic because it is very literally opposite of humility to have the world service your self pity
