does anyone have any intel on the readiness of the new organization? Do they have the national contracts in place? have they advertised/filled key leadership positions?

It’s fine!! Everything is FINE. there’s that sparkling new wildland fire org that hasn’t been stood up yet. But it’s FINE!!
That said, i will NOT be spending my summer in Bend, as i have been since 2019. Nope nope nope.
It’s still great. Careful use of block and not interested, etc curates verrrrrry well. I never see MAGA or porn bots. It’s hilarious and fun.
I am so loving that investment!! I retired from my fox duties with Aiken Hounds and have taken up “beagling.” Following a pack of beagles hunting bunnies. Sound up!

How did i miss this? At one time in my USFS career i was the district rec program manager. We had two popular rifle ranges (close to Charleston SC). I absolutely HATED swinging by and checking on things (what kitchen appliances/TVs were dumped by the locals for targets?).
