Today was a planning day. Realised I'd messed up my pacing and needed to go back to the drawing board and add more development to act 2 of the story. Once I get to the editing stage I'm also probably going to cut chapter 5 into 2 chapters, to give the big reveal at the end more time to breathe.

After some hiccups brought on by unsolicited critique, chapter 6 is finally done- brought to you by the K-Pop Demon Hunters soundtrack played at ungodly volumes.
Word count has just crept over 18k.

Wow. @realgdt.bsky.social and the rest of the cast and crew have created another masterpiece in Frankenstein. My sister and I were so moved we sat there and cried through the credits. So glad we saw it at the cinema, in its full glory!

Chapter 5 finally done! Just shy of 14k words.

This thread is so self indulgent but it's going to be a nice record to look back on as I make more progress.

Finally got the first 600 pages of chapter 5 down today. Twas rough going, but I'm slowly getting better at pushing through the self doubt to just get the bones of a scene on the page. It doesn't have to be perfect it just has to be done.

There are people proudly doing real Nazi shit on main. ICE is sending innocent people to concentration camps. The president is soft launching a dictatorship. But we're preoccupied with a necklace?
Sounds about right, tbh. Why do anything about real problems when you can lose your mind over nothing.

Chapter 4 is DONE! I've hit 10k! Not bad for 5 weeks of effort, after years without writing at all. There are moments where it almost flows freely, but mostly it's still really hard. I've had a few mini flare ups as I've pushed myself to work through a block here and there. But I'm not giving up!

600 words into chapter 4, Trystan (heart eyes) has finally appeared on the page. Next Erin POV chapter they might even... Speak to each other?!?!

Finished chapter 3 a couple of days ago, but I think I want to take another crack at it before I move on. Most of it was written late one night when I made myself stay up to get the bones of it done, so I know I left some important stuff out.

And a second chapter done! Even longer than the first!

Chapter one complete! Take that, brain damage.

I'm finding writing so hard right now and I think that's made worse by just how easy this used to be for me once upon a time.
So frustrating to have a story laid out so clearly in my head and be struggling so hard to find the words to tell it!

It's fantastic! So glad it has been revived through the YouTube channel and Patreon, it was such a staple of my viewing habits growing up and watching old episodes has been a real comfort lately.

Oh no the last show I watched was Time Team, I'm doomed. 😂
At least they'll dig me up respectfully and explain my historical significance in an entertaining way.

I love the rivalmances and pacing in DA2, but I *think* Inquisition *just* beats it for me, because of the range and overall quality.
Plus being able to go and chat to or smooch the LI at any time, which I sorely missed in both 2 and VG.

Seeing the doctor tomorrow to try and find a medication that I
A) haven't tried before
B) can afford
with
C) minimal side effects
that most importantly
D) won't make any of my other health conditions worse

A reminder that every small bit of good you do - whether it be putting art into the world, helping a friend or stranger, donating to a good cause, or just listening to someone who needs to vent - offsets all the evil in the world just a little bit. And sometimes that's just what the world needs.

For me, it was Hawke. It took a toll on her, but she loved being the big flashy hero. HoF & Inky are proud of saving the world but would rather have read about it than done it. Rook liked being a hero but was hugely overwhelmed by the leadership aspect.

Worth it if only for the chance to delve into the archives of the Great Cathedral in Val Royeaux. I imagine there must be historical wonders on par with those locked away in the Vatican within those hallowed halls!

Call me crazy but B- Orlais. As a minor noble, I'll go under the radar. Visit Val Royeaux and Halamshiral when necessary but mostly stay in my estate somewhere green and quiet, where I can read my books, research obscure history and meet my grisly end to an elven artefact instead of a hired bard.

Saw Superman tonight, it was great! So refreshing to see the DC movie-verse step away from the grimdark and take Superman back to his roots.

Just finished a run with my first ever D&D character Anora, and remembered when Rolan reappeared in Act 2 why it had taken so long to do. I was so sad that she couldn't smooch him, of everyone in the game he's the best match for my bard extraordinaire.

B. Whether it's true is immaterial, the impact of the Chant and belief in a Maker on Thedas is real and enduring.
I'm glad they intend to keep it a mystery in canon though, some things are more interesting when people can interpret them their own ways in headcanon and roleplay!
